John /Joseph Vance
Can I please ask why when I am at John Vance's memorial 54125675 and click on son John D Vance's name it brings up John D Vance with an article that says he is the son of JOSEPH and Nancy Bradley Vance. I know my John Vance who is the father of my great, great, great grandfather Robert Vance was married to a Nancy, but she wasn't Nancy Bradley Vance. Tom Boelling has a lot of erroneous information about my Vances that I'm trying to get findagrave to correct since he won't.
Thanks

Sarah Vance Morgan Memorial
I just wanted you to be aware that the memorial for Sarah Vance Morgan is a duplicate. There is actually 2 listings for the same cemetery. The memorial you are maintaining is under "Leuins Point Cemetery" but the original name of the cemetery is "Old Middletown Cemetery" which already has over 140 memorials including Sarah Morgan. I do not know how 2 listings where created for the same cemetery but yours is a duplicate. I have also sent a message to the original creator of Sarah's memorial. If you have any questions please send me a message. GT

Joel and Ella Everett
I just posted photos for Joel and Ella Everett at the Berry City Cemetery in Berry, Alabama. I created a memorial for Ella and if you would like me to transfer it over to you, just let me know and I will be happy to do so.

I tried to find Aldolphus Baker at the Alta Church Cemetery instead of the Mt. Joy Cemetery. Sorry about that! We all have our mixed up direction days! I will try and go over to Mt. Joy in about a month or so. I will also at that time try and get your requests at the Gibson Hill Cemetery.

Take care and God Bless you and your family!

RE: Nancy Bradley Vance/Joseph Vance
Hi Bonnie

It turns out that we are related to Joseph and not John and Nancy Bradley Vance

My grandfather Claude Vance is the son of William S. Vance, son of Wilson Vance, son of Robert Vance, son of Joseph and Nancy Bradley Vance. People were listing Wilson's father as Hiram or John.

My question is who was Joseph's father and how can I obtain the book that you were talking about in a previous correspondence?

I tracked everyone through the US Censuses on Ancestry.com instead of trying to copy other's info. I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. If I ever have time I'm going to write each of them and tell them they are wrong. There was one posting where they had picked someone to be our relative but the one they picked was only 7 years older than his son. I asked where she got her info and she said it was obviously wrong and would delete it.

Thanks for your help.

Joseph & Nancy Vance
Hi Linda It's me again. After totally ignoring the posted family trees on Ancestry.com we went back throug the censuses over the years.

My grandfather Claude's parents were William S and Alice Bland Vance
William S. is the son of Mary Magadalene Harper and Wilson Vance
Wilson is the son of Robert and Catherine Barnhouse Vance
Robert is the son of Joseph and Nancy Bradley Vance - NOT JOHN!!
Now that we actually are related do you know who Joseph's parents?

Thanks - (wow this has given me a two day headache!!)

RE: Nancy Bradley Vance
That's fine Linda. I just threw my hands up when i found different information on a couple of others and asked Ancestry.com and the Morman Geneology to see if they could help me. It seems odd Nancy and Joseph have some of the same chidren and birth dates as Nancy and John.

That's interesting you're a Goebel. My Aunt Eloise Vance married a Goebel.

Thanks.

John Vance & Nancy Bradley
Hi Linda

My John Vance that married Nancy Bradley was born 1/10/1753 in Virginia; they married October 1773; and he died 2/8/1826. We also apparently have a book. And my original family tree is hand written and passed down from my father, from his father William S from his father Wilson, from his father Robert, son of John & Nancy Vance.

Are you related to Eddie Goebel?

Added by Kathy on Jun 20, 2010 6:31 AM

Nancy Bradley Vance
According to all my research and that of alot of the family trees on Ancestry.com Nancy Bradley Vance was married to John Vance, son of Alexander and Jane Marten Vance. His date of birth is January 10, 1753 d. February 8, 1826. It is the same Nancy Bradley Vance who was born 11/9/1764 in Virginia and died February 14, 1857. Some of their children were Robert, Soloman, Sarah, James, Mary, Elizabeth, Hiram. Their son Hiram married PHoebe Skidmore who had John A. Vance, Rueben, Levi, Elias, Hiram, Elija, Elizabeth, Perry, Nancy and Benjamin and Wlson. We descend from Wilson Vance who married Mary Magdelene and they had William Simpson Vance whose second wife was Alice Bland who had Claude F. Vance

I'm wondering where Joseph fits into all of this.
