Burial error
Your recent memorial to Charles R Pumphrey at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Calhoun City, Mississippi is in error. He is buried at Arbor Grove Baptist Cemetery in Houston, Mississippi. A memorial has already been created for him along with his obit.
This is one of those cases where the husband and wife are buried in different cemeteries.

Thank you,
Larry Pumphrey

I changed cemetery for Lucretia and Thomas Walton. Been meaning to change but haven't gotten around to it. It shows New Hope but its really Old Bethany. Its known as New Hope now.

Lucinda Avans Devine
Hello,Cory and Julie

I know that we are related by way of Rachel C. Sneed Hicks, but I noticed that you posted a photo on Elizabeth Avans Devine's memorial of her with her mother-in-law. I know that I am related to Elizabeth, as my great-grandmother was also an Avans. I'd appreciate it if you could tell me who Elizabeth's parents and grandparents were.

Jemima Dill and Lucinda Divine Pic
You posted a picture of Jemima Dill Divine and daughter-in-law Lucinda Divine on Jemima's memorial. You said the picture was from Milburn Divine. Do you have access to Milburn's research? Is it publicly available? My mother-in-law and later my husband and I have communicated with Milburn in the past regarding these ancestors of my husband. Are you researching the Dills and Divines? If so, we would like to communicate with you if you don't mind.

Thank you,
Mary Ann

Photos in Lone Oak Cemetery
Hello Cory and Julie:
What a pleasant surprise to see the photos for Ray Phillips and wife Ethel Adams Phillips that you took in Lone Oak in 2004 and added to Find A Grave this week.
My Dad's father and many generations before him were born, raised and died in Graham County. I haven't been there in about 15 years and hopefully my eldest sister and I will be able to visit soon and spend many days in the cemeteries there looking for the Adams clan. Since it's already getting quite hot, will probably wait until late fall.
Thanks again.

William & Sarah Willard
I have a complete listing of all Family Plot Owners at Magnolia Cemetery. There are none listed for a Willard Family. Could your William & Sarah be buried in another family plot--maybe her maiden name? There is also a Paupers Section that has no plot owners.

I'm updating my church cemetery records and I'm trying to verify parentage of a headstone. What is on your page is showing different than what I have and I want to make sure which one is correct. The name is James Walter "Big Joe" Burris, B: Oct 3, 1882, D: Dec 12, 1952. My records are showing that he is the son of Martha Ella Pannell and E. Lafayette Burris. Just would like to know if you knew for sure that yours was correct? Thanks.

Can you provide burial location -- that is, section -- in the IOOF cemetery? It's large & I must have more specific info to find the headstone. You can call and leave a message for the sexton, Jeff. (260)749-2554

Hi, I found this photo of the Crowder graves in google. I am writing an article for Monroe Life Magazine about the old Crowder Mill. I was wondering if you could send me the photos you posted to use in my article (you would get photo credit in the magazine). If you are interested, please email me:

RE: Hicks marker photo
Hi, Cory!
I figured that you already had it as I only put in the request this morning! I'm glad that you wrote since I wasn't sure whether you gr-gr-grandfather's first name was William or Wilson, after his father. The "Beige/Bige" part confuses me,as well. By the way, Rachel C. Sneed Hicks, their mom, was my gr-gr-grand-aunt, as her brother,Jeremiah Sneed, was MY great-grandfather. So, that makes us cousins!

I remain,
Mayra Sneed Lopez

Dear Cory & Julie, THANK YOU so much for going the extra mile to get this photograph. It means so much to me. I had her birth year completely off. It helps so much in my family "search quest".

Harrill Cem
Will you please tell me where this cem is located? I have the Monroe Cem Record Book and it does not list a Harrill Cem nor can I find any of the people buried there listed anywhere in the book. Thanks for your help
