RE:
Thank you for all of your advice.. I am really new to this site when it comes to uploading/adding a grave on this site, so I've always been a little scared of doing it. There's already a record of him up on this site but I don't know how to add on the location of the cemetery. I also can't change info without running it by the person who uploaded the record. Do I have to message the person who made this record to add on the location? Or could I just make another separate page altogether?

Sorry for the trouble. I really appreciate you helping me out the past few times and I thank you again.

The information came from the cemetery records published in a book I found at the Family History library in Salt Lake City.

Hi Priscilla,

Sorry I didn't get your messages earlier and only saw them now- my email never notified me. I understand, I was only wondering since you contributed to the cemetery the most. I contacted the owner and they said he must be in an unmarked grave, but they didn't find him in the records and told me they'd double check. Unfortunately they never emailed me back after that. His death certificate says he was buried in Home Oaks back in 1980 but it could have changed. I will try to look into it further. Thank you again. I really appreciate you responding and I'm sorry again for responding so late.

I saw your request of another contributor as to Sarah's mother's name. She was a great grandmother of mine, and her name was Ann Clarissa Gurley.
Birth 23 Feb 1799 in Liverpool, Mefford, Yorkshire, England, Death 1841 in La Porte, Indiana. Hope this helps. Pam

Home Oaks
Hi Priscilla,

I see you have contributed most, if not, all of the tombstone photos for those interred at Home Oaks Cemetery in Antioch, Illinois. I was wondering, did you happen to find a tombstone with the name Darrell Samson on it? Born 1957, died in 1979 though he went missing in 1976 so it might be different. Just curious as he is not listed within those interred at the cemetery even though his death certificate states he was buried there.

Thanks!

RE: Pratt photo
Priscilla,

Actually not hard. I use an off-camera flash with a remote. the flash is set usually on the left side of the tombstone so the light goes across the stone's front. This makes any indentation (writing) show up in shadow (black). The f-stop on the camera is usually between f10 and f16 (I usuually use ISO 100-400) with a shutter speed no less than 1/ISO. You are basically making the stone brighter than the sun and because only the stone is illuminated, the remainder of the shot is black so it appears that I am shooting at night but really in full light (although the cloudier the day the better).

If you wanted to see me do it and you are around Stamford, CT or thereabouts, let me know and we could get together for 1/2 hour so we could go through it. Carl

I did have someone submit a few edits recently changing my "foreign name" ones to actual names, perhaps they did the same for you and you didn't see it and it automatically updated for you. I would check your approve edits and see if you can find them there. Hopefully that is the case.

Priscilla,

I fully agree, however I am confused as to why you are telling me this. I have not used your photos nor do I intend to. If you're concerned about transferring memorial management, it is my belief that whenever anyone adds a photo, there is always credit to that person regardless of who is maintaining the memorial.

RE: Wanzer family
No I am not related to the Wanzers. I studied the family while researching the Schroeder Cemetery in Dundee Twp, Kane, IL. Yes, this family is related the the Wanzer dairy family. What a wonderful memory you have of your teacher.
