|Addie Rickey||SMITHSON burials in GROVE HILL MEMORIAL PARK|
Hello Laura, Thanks for letting me know. Too bad that Find-A-Grave does not allow the AKA's for Cemeteries. Almost all Cemeteries that have been around for awhile have had several changes in official and unofficial Titles. In working with the Salem Pioneer Cemetery in Salem, Oregon ... we have at least 5 other titles that are in old lists, ledgers and obituaries over the years. And then there is the history of part of the land being sold off to a commercial cemetery enterprise as their earliest section. Most people don't realize there are two separate but somewhat related cemeteries right next to each other... the second one being even bigger now.
One suggestion to make is ... when you tell other people about the other name ... use only the Grove Hill Memorial Park and leave out the word: cemetery. I had to look it up several times to find the one you were referring to.
Will you be adding plot locations to this cemetery? I did not have that information. Nor did I have the full dates of birth for the two SMITHSON names. If anyone is interested in the SMITHSON burials they can get in touch with me at: smithsonfamily @ gmail.com (take out the spaces). We also have a website with a lot of SMITHSON records.
Thanks for all you do to protect our cemeteries.

|Dona (Carr) Mooring||Memorials on Find a Grave|
I've been updating Find a Grave with Copies of Death Certificates for the Wall or Walls family. Please feel free to contact me if you find that I have made an error in where a person might have been buried. I'm looking at documents from a computer screen in CA and don't always get them right. Please feel free to contact me with corrections.

Greenwood Cemetery in Dallas has a computerized inventory of interments. It hasn't been published. You will have to contact the caretaker. The phone number and address are accessible on the internet.

I have made corrections and deleted previous memorial. I believe someone had made a suggestion before but I did not make the correction at that time, I made a note to go back to it later, and let it slip up on me. Thanks for the reminder.

I hope they don't move them! One month the sale sign is up the next it's down so all we can do is wait and see I guess.

You asked to us to delete and we did so without making a copy of any of the photos.

|Don and Amy||Re: Swor and Garvin Photos|
I will delete after they have finished moving all the graves from this area. A large group has been watching what is happening which is why we took so many photos. We plan to take more after they have finished moving them to the new site.

|Stone Seeker||RE: Request to delete the Swor memorials|
Well, here is the dilemma...I have no problem deleting the memorials I made since I am not a relative, but she is the one who duplicated the memorials a month after I originally created them and she is the one who claimedmy photos of the headstones as her own when she duped them. Had she asked me to transfer them to her I would have done so without hesitation. As a member of Findagrave for 7 years she should known better than to dupe and post a photo that was not hers to post.
Let me contact this person and ask her to ask for a transfer before I delete mine. Like I said before I have no problem with transferring/deleting the memorials, however, I do have a problem with using my photos without asking first! If it turns out that she is no longer an active member then I will contact the admins to delete hers and then I will be glad to transfer the memorials to you if that is what you wish.
Thank you for pointing this out to me.

I'm sorry, but I cannot make those transfers. I am related.

|Barbara Ware||RE: Question|
I am part of a team that has been working on the transcription of Oakland Cemetery for years. The information came our records. We have used combination of sources, but the first step was the interment cards which have been filmed by the LDS Family History Center. We have a set in our library. We have walked the cemetery twice to verify and add tombstones. We published Section 1 and Section 2 in the Dallas Genealogical Social Journal. Our intent is to get all 37,000 burials online in a searchable database. Sorry for the long answer.

I noticed that you asked another poster to delete a reference to a Jones family legend claiming that John Jones, of Wright Co Mo (1865), changed his name from McSwain. I am a GGG Grandson of this John Jones and would be very interested in any info you might have surrounding this story. Thanks. Ron Jones

My father is John L. Pearce (Johnny L. Pearce). His parents are Charles Samuel and Loma Alice. They are buried in the same cemetary (Pleasant Plains). You have a photo of my grandparents grave. Do you happen to have a photo of my father's grave?

My wife's side holds the key to the Mullen's, and so far we haven't been able to go back very far, just to her 2nd GGrandfather in Mississippi.

I removed the message, and I didn't see the John Pearce stone you are referring to. Sorry, I thought you were referring to John Devotion.
