|Wilson McElveen||RE: Peeples Cemetery|
Thank you. I think I have finally figured out the location - I didn't realize there was a map included on the cemetery page.

Can you tell me the location of the Peeples Cemetery? In your biography of Rev. Darling Peeples, you state he dies on the Peeples Planation. I can locate where his place was on the 1825 Mills Atlas of Barnwell District. I am interested because family history that has been passed down is that Rev. Peeples bought the home of Cornelius Tobin, "Fairmount" - I am a direct descendant of Cornelius Tobin. Information that I have is that the Peeples later sold it to the Reynolds family and was called the Old Reynolds Place. The home was demolished in the 1920's. I live in Columbia, SC and would be interested in finding its original location. Cornelia Ann Tobin Peeples, grandaughter of Cornelius Tobin is also buried in the Peeples cemetery. Could this cemetery be located near the prpperty they owned?

Back in June of 2013, you left me this message under my previous account:
Lauren, I see you have taken several pics of the cemetery. Do you know if anyone has ever done a cemetery survey of the site? I help local gen. society and may try to do it this summer.
Added by Hardy on Jun 04, 2013 11:54 AM
Sorry I didn't get back with you. I haven't logged in for over a year now. To answer your question, I haven't a clue if anyone has surveyed this cemetery. The photos were actually taken by my father several years ago.

Thank you so much for getting me the photo of my great-great uncle, Benjamin Rhoden's, grave. I have tried to account for the burial locations of all my relatives, and this is one of the last I needed to find! So thank you so much for taking your time to do this for me...it is greatly appreciated!

Hi! The funeral home director to told my father this is 1948. He was also called William or Willie. James doesn't have a stone, he has a plaque. I know he is there because this cemetery is documented on his death certificate. James mother, Carrie Daley is also buried there. Thank You so much for your time.

Thanks so much. On the inscription, a technique that I use is Barbasol (cheap) shaving cream, water bottles, and a car windshield squeegee. Wet the stone some, spray on the shaving cream and use the squeegee backside fiber mesh and spread and rub clean over all stone surface and push cream into depressions. Then use the rubber side and squeegee carefully whole stone but leaving cream in carved depressions. Take digital pictures and then wash all cream from stone.
Where this does not work well, aluminum foil can be taped to surface and use fingers to press foil into all depression and remove foil take pictures and then use software to make a mirror image transfer to read inscription.
I would like to see the full transcription. Thanks for you work.

|Billy Mitchell||Givens Photos|
Just wanted to thank you for the great photos of my great grand-parents Aquilla and Mary Givens and their son Luther markers. They had 15 children my grandmother Jessie Alma being one. I have all but completed my Mitchell-Givens family tree on ancestry.com Both families are from Barnwell originally. Most of the Mitchells are buried at Bates Cemetery. I have taken photos of all of their markers.
I am now trying to get as many photos as possible to add to the tree.
You were a great help and I really do appreciate it.

Hardy, Thank you.
By the way, is there an overseer or office in or near the cemetery? I'm looking to see if there is any kind of paperwork regarding the burial of my ancestor.
