Mert Davis
Hello,

I am the great-granddaughter of Mert Davis whom you posted photos of him and his marker. I was wondering who you knew he took pictures of the Bonnie and Clyde ambush. We have always known and talked of that in our family. Was just curious how you knew this interesting information.

My Great Uncle
Hello to all my Bagwell cousins in California. We Bagwells are kind of thin on the ground in Alabama. My Uncle Bob still lives in Mobile.

RE: James Frank Davis
Hi Brenda,

So happy to hear from you. My husband is descended through Frank's brother Elzy Hamilton Davis. His mother Olive Augusta Davis Webber is a niece to Frank and Villa.

Frank and Villa were divorced sometime after 1910. Frank remarried Lenora Blanton. Frank died in 1948 and is buried here in Malheur county Oregon:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=davis&GSfn=frank&GSbyrel=all&GSdy=1948&GSdyrel=in&GSst=39&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=30012494&df=all&

Lenora is buried in the same cemetery.(Evergreen)

Besides Alta, Lola and Conley, Frank and Villa had another Daughter, Loda Helene, who married Milton Evans Coe in Yamhill Oregon.

Of much interest to me is Frank and Villa's grandson, Douglas Coe, who is featured here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_Coe

Douglas Coe is a famous spiritual leader in Washington DC being extraordinarily politically connected to some of the most powerful people in the country and the world for that matter. If you google his name there is a mountain of info about him on the web.

Douglas is the son of Milton and Loda Davis Coe.

I have a lot of info on the Davis line. If you are interested, I would be happy to share. You don't happen to know whatever became of Frank Davises father, John, do you? It is a mystery to us.

I would love to have copies of pictures of Frank, Villa and the children. My mother-in-law, Olive, is still living and actually lived for a time with Frank and Leora (Frank's 2nd wife) in Malheur, Oregon when she was a young girl. Lola, Alta and Conley would be her first cousins. I know she would love to see the pictures.

Unfortunately I do not know where Villa is buried. I know that she lived with Milton and Loda in McMinville, Yamhill, Oregon.

James Frank Davis
My mother-in-law is a daughter of Elzy Hamilton Davis (James Frank Davis' brother)

I am very excited to see the picture that you posted. It clears up a few things for me such as Villa's maiden name which I had previously assumed was Greer. I have some interesting info regarding this family. There are also some mysteries that I would like to solve. I would love to be in contact with anyone who is interested in sharing info.

PHOTO SIZE
I saw your message for Cindy re: the size of the photos. Have you tried resizing and saving the resized photo through the paint progrsm? Mine are always too large also so I resize to about 800x600 pixels.

You also found Myrtle Greer's picture..
Thank you very much I appericate it a lot more to put her face besides censuses and record that I had been tracking her and her father down to California, so it was a big thrill to put her face besides her grave :) Do you have any close up picture of her father, Rollin by any chance and do you have any histories or stories that you might have on her and Greer lineage? thank you :)

I was so excited to see picture of ggg Aunt Alice Conley Greer
for it was finally my first time to see picture of Greers, do you have any picture of Alice's husbad, Rollin and two daughters, Savilla Conley and Myrtle Greer? I am on dead brick wall on Rollin's parents and it felt like I was "last kin" to Myrtle's family since Rollin died, leaving with no grandchildren and I had been struggling to find more info on Greer lineage, hope to hear from you
are we kin to each other?
Thank you :)
Cindy

I didn't know if you noticed the others that were on the headstone as well. I don't know if they were buried there or just mentioned, but I added their records and what information I could get from the headstone. I think there was a George D and wife...as well as Elizabeth, wife of A. Dodd...

Porterville Cemetery
Porterville Cemetery is correct.

This is the original cemetery for Porterville and is also known as the "Old Porterville Cemetery".
Burials began in 1878. The trees within this cemetery are really beautiful.

This cemetery has been referred to as the "Old Porterville Cemetery" since the early 1900's or so and I think it is because it is the original Cemetery for Porterville.

Yes, I did remove the mud and you are quite welcome for the picture. If you would like to make a memorial for Issac, I will add his grave marker for you.
