Bio

My interest in genealogy began after a cousin gave my family folders that he had put together tracing our Steele's to 18th century Iredell, North Carolina. However the item that interested me most in that folder was the fact that I had died. For some reason I felt challenged to do fact checking on the other information he provided, and before I knew it I was hooked.
Besides going deeper into my Steele line, I've made great strides in various other branches. Now I feel I've gathered enough burial information from death certificates and obituaries to attempt ‘gathering the clan' with Find-A-Grave's assistance.
I will be glad to transfer graves to anyone of equal, or lesser distance in relationship. For the most part, I have grabbed on to distant cousins for the sole purpose of adding their parents to their memorial. I enjoy seeing all the siblings together again with their folks. I want to get as much of that accomplished before the second publication of my demise.
