RE: Pringle
Hi Suzy, so busy this time of year, but did look in my Pringle file and see that Samuel and Charity had two daughters..Elizabeth, born in 1775, and Sarah Ann born in 1779. They also had three sons.
Which of these sisters married your Howe's descendant? Their son, William Pringle is my line down from Samuel.

My email is: mshollen@yahoo.com

After the first of year I hope to spend more time on my Genealogy.

Have a great week/weekend, and want to wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Take care,
Karen

RE: Pringle
Morning Suzy,
Got your messege few weeks ago, and sorry for slow replying. I also have found two Revolutionary War Patriots so far..one on my Dad's side and Captain Samuel Pringle, on my Mom's side of family. Do you, or your family line live in Upshur County, WV.? If you need any help in joining the NSDAR, I will be glad to help you. It took me about year or so to find my way back to 4th Great-Granddad Samuel, but was fun and exciting to do. I live in Berkeley County, WV., in the Eastern Panhandle, and have since 1986. My job brought me to this part of our State.
One of my Pringle cousins has written and published a book called, "Seedlings of the Sycamore Tree", and is a good book to enjoy.
Have a great day and week, and keep in touch.
Love Ya, Karen

Thank you so much for the work you have done in Woodlawn. You have helped me find some family members. I am the only one left and I'm trying to leave a record for my family. I will be contacting you for a few transfers so I can properly link them and write bios. I am especially thanking you for leaving flowers for my great grandmother.

RE: Woodlawn - one more thing.
Hi Suzy. Yes, I thought that was probably what happened. I won't be there right at 9:00 but shortly thereafter. Mary and Cheri will be there for sure and maybe Jack and Patt. I wish we could find more! If you know anyone else who might be interested in this, please invite them along, if not tomorrow, on one of our future expeditions. The more, the merrier!

Hope to see you tomorrow.
-Bonnie

Hi Suzy,
I wanted to let you know that a volunteer did go to Woodlawn and got the photos for me. I'm so grateful to him. And to you for offering to go if no one else went. It's so lovely to come across generous people. You are one of them. Thank you, Sherry

Woodlawn - one more thing.
The entrance is on Central, so go past the intersection at Greenleaf and then turn into the driveway. The gate on Greenleaf is the exit and puts you on the other side from where we are supposed to park.

I hope to see you Saturday. If you can't make it, then maybe the week after.

Take care,
Bonnie

RE: Woodlawn Cemetery - Compton
Oh yay! I will be there starting at 9:00 a.m. to whenever. I will give your e-mail address to the yahoo group manager and you will be receiving an "invitation" to join the group. Her name is Cheri Mello (see her page, she is listed as one of my "friends"). There is also a contributor page called "Woodlawn Volunteers". Please read the bio page for info on this group.

Just so you know, there is limited parking inside this cemetery as it was established before the use of autos so the lanes are very narrow. If you pull in and see cars already parked just inside the gate, find a place right there before you go further, because there is a little sign that says "no parking beyond this point" and believe me, it is not very far inside the gate and is hard to see.

Don't worry if you can't make it there on the 21st, as there will be plenty of other opportunities.

Thanks again and I hope to see you there. We usually wear Findagrave t-shirts so you can easily tell who we are, and there are not a lot of visitors there.

Take care,
Bonnie

Woodlawn Cemetery - Compton
Hi again, Suzy! I noticed your message exchange with Sherry Wright and just wanted to extend an invitation to you to join us for a day of graving at Woodlawn, and maybe you can take photos for Sherry. I am getting more involved in this, and plan to be there on at least one or two Saturdays per month until we have the entire cemetery photographed. It is not that bad of an area. It is the industrial part of Compton, just a couple of blocks off the 91 freeway on the corner of Central and Greenleaf. I know you once told me that you don't go out to cemeteries that much, but your help would be greatly appreciated, if you're up for the challenge. There is only a handful of us right now, but we hope our numbers grow as word gets out about what we are doing.

Let me know if you are interested in being on the "e-mail list" to receive updates and invitations on dates we are going to be there. We have a "yahoo group" set up. I will be there on both July 21 and 28; the rest of the group will be there on one of those days.

Best Regards,
Bonnie

RE: Thank you for the flowers
Dear Suzy,
What a generous offer you've made. When I found out where my great grandparents and great aunt were buried and I looked up the cemetery I was very disappointed to read that it had been closed down by the state of CA due to some inappropriate management. And that as a result of that it had, so to say, "gone to seed". I had no hope of ever getting any further info about my family. But then the very day after posting the Find A Grave Memorial a volunteer group for the cemetery sent the info regarding their plot locations. And I think I read that it's now being cared for ... by volunteers and that the state has reinstated it's cemetery rights or whatever they call it. I put in a request for a photo but saw that there were 35 other requests still pending. So again, I didn't have much hope that anyone goes there. But maybe it's that the requests for that cemetery are very active. I don't know. Anyway ... I really, really appreciate your saying that if no one goes you might try to go and take the photos for me. I wish I could help people from my end. I have vounteered to take photo's but I've never gotten a request. I don't know how to thank you. It would mean a great to deal to us to be able to visit them at least through the images and I'm compiling a family history for my children and grandchildren, and the old people of that family so the photos will add a personal and important piece. An old, old aunt told my that John and Kate are not buried next to one another. But he's near somewhere. Apparently he was not a kind husband to Kate and the children would not allow him to be right beside her in death. Interesting what we learn about our familys stories huh? If it's too much trouble for you, or the area doesn't feel comfortable for you I understand. I'm just grateful for the kindess of people who I don't even know. Bless you. Sherry Wright

Thank you for the flowers
I just wanted to thank you for leaving flowers on our family members grave. It means so much to me to know that volunteers are caring enough to help those of us who can't get there. I've put in 3 requests for photos in the last two days ... all at Woodlawn. My great grandparents and my great aunt. But I hear that it's not a good area to be in anymore and I don't know if anyone goes to take photos. I'll wait and hope. In the meantime, thank you very much for caring along with me. Sherry Wright

I think there's some confusion, here. lol He was actually born April 2, 1953. He died March 25, 2012. I must have been in the midst of grieving so bad I couldn't concentrate when I was building his memorial. I'll go correct it. Thanks! :)
