RE: Farris/Fagan
The inscription on Eli's headstone was very hard to read. I was able to verify it by the dates you had listed for him. What I was able to read was "Eli. Husband of Sarah Storie." I was able to see the year of birth and year of death. I wasn't able to see if there was anything else on the headstone that could be read. As you can see by the photo, it is quite weathered and appears to have been broken for some time.

The Farris/Fagan group I am related to is from the Wright County MO area. If you are also related to this group, I would love to hear about the information you have.

To a fellow St.Louisian, although I'm originally a Tennessian. I used to go to Border Town/Seneka, Oklahoma BINGO'S 2-3 times a year, but it's been a while since I've been there. Have you ever been there or do you even like the huge pay-off Bingo's???? Potowatome, Wisconsin is also another fun place to visit.

I did live in Mehlville, South County but now live in South St.Louis city. But still go to my Church N the County. Couldn't leave.

Nice hearing from you and Blessed always to you and your family. Bye for now.

RE: James Barber family
I do have a James Edward Barber who married Olive Texas Gay. They were in Oklahoma in 1930 census:

1930 census Okfuskee County, Oklahoma
Castle Twp. page 42 April 1930

Jim E. Barber, age 63, ??, U.S., U.S.
Olive, wife, age 41, ??, ??, ??
next door
Marvin Barber, age 20, TX ??, ??
Janette, wife, age 20, OK, IL, TX
Henry Carpenter, father-in-law, age 54, OK
Henry Carpenter Jr., brother-in-law, age 22, OK
Odis Carpenter, brother-in-law, age 16, OK
Lorene, ??, 18, ?
Rollin, age 13, ??,
Deward, age 10, ??
Cornell, daughter, age ??, ??

Olive Texas Gay Barber died in Okemah, Oklahoma in 1948 and is buried at Highland Cemetery,in Okemah, Oklahoma. Her grave marker is on Find a Grave.

After she died, her husband James Edward Barber moved with some of his children to California where he died in 1956. He was taken back to Okemah,Oklahoma for burial and is buried next to his wife at Highland Cemetery in Okemah, Oklahoma.

Olive Texas Gay (who married James E. Barber) was born in Georgia and her parents moved to Columbia County, Arkansas and also lived in Texas for awhile before that. Her parents were Francis Marion Gay and Mary Abbie Allen.

Is this the same James Barber family you mentioned?

Francis Marion Gay was a brother of my gg grandfather George Washington Gay. They all lived in Cleburne county, Alabama from the late 1860's to 1900's and some of the family still live there today. My father's families were from the same areas of Alabama. His mother was Etta Ophelia Gay who married Joseph Teal.
