RE: Giffen tombstones
Glad I could help. I typically avoid this cemetery until I have 20 or 30 requests, which I have to submit in advance for locations. Apparently, I'm not the only one to avoid it.

You're welcome. I hope they were okay. It was a bad time of the day for some shadows and I was basically passing through so I had no choice but to shoot what and when I could.
Hope you didn't mind the labeling.

Mary (Garrison) Rodenbaugh Longacre
Hi, Dennis-
Thanks are long overdue to you for listing Mary (Garrison) Rodenbaugh Longacre in Mt Hope Cemetery at Peru,IN. Many thanks. You did a good job on the coverage. I wondered if you would like to have all her children beside Charles Rodenbaugh. ( I can send them if you like.) My direct ancestor to her is her daughter Charlotte (Rodenbaugh) Van Valkenburg, wife of Union Col.John VV of the 20th IN. The VVs were settled in Huntsville, AL, by 1870, having moved from Peru, IN, after the Civil War. We're still here.

It appears that Mary Longacre must've moved to Peru, IN, to be with Charlotte's family after the death of Rev Thomas Longacre, which occurred early in the war. She died in April 1865 about the time of the surrender. The Longacre home was in the Big Coon Valley near Stevenson, AL, a real war hot spot at the time as it was on the railroad across N AL-a vital supply link. (Gen. Rosencrantz was headquartered at Stevenson.) Mary's son Charles Rodenbaugh's family also appears to have fled Stevenson to IN as they had a child born in IN then. (They went back to Stevenson after the war.)

I visited Rev Thomas Longacre's grave about a year ago. While he is not specifically marked, a memorial from his church members is included with the burial marker of Judith Longacre and there are two burials there. (Huntsville is about 50 miles from there.)

Mary's huge monument at Mt Hope in Peru disappeared between the 1970s and 1990s. Hope this helps fill in some gaps.

Hi Dennis,

Would you transfer Arnold Mordaunt Anderson to me so I can link him to French Anderson (103457754) and his mother Hazel (103457929) or just link them yourself if you don't mind.

RE: Transfer please.
Thanks for the transfer of Samuel Spencer's memorial. I have added his obituary and links to his parents. He was the last of several children I was trying to link to my memorials for his parents. Now the family is complete. Thanks again for letting me manage his memorial. Have a great day, Farm Girl from MO.

Bonnie Sisson Manning
John Gardner Rambo & Meta Louise Farr Rambo
Hello Dennis
Bought a 1907 wedding picture of John Gardner Rambo and Meta Louise Farr Rambo in a Kansas antique store. The back of the picture lists everyone in the wedding party.

Wedding date 10/23/1907
I plan to scan the picture
If you believe I've found the right Find A Grave memorial, I'll be sure to give you all the information I have. I've already found both John and Meta in Census reports and marriage registries.

Let me hear from you.

RE: JOrdan
Thank you Dennis for deleteing the Jordan's from that Mt. Zion Cemetery. It really is confusing when there are two cemeteries with the same name in the county, if a person isn't familiar with them. I have photographed both cemeteries and through research I knew what area the Jordans lived in. I do not know where the memorial for Mary Jordan is but I am going to try to find out and if I do I will let you know so that you can use the picture there.
