I'm Thomas, my grandfather was Charles Guynn (He was The last of the bloodline where the male used Guynn) . I've been doing some genealogy work for about a few months and been able to trace the tree up through the Guynn line and noticed my family tree meets with yours at Mary Wheeler and George H. Guinn (it was changed to Guynn when it came down to George's son John Guinn/Guynn and his son David Guynn, we have documents where they used both versions of the name and since David, my line of the tree stuck with the spelling of "Guynn". I would Love to get any information of the Wheeler side of the line, Anne Wheeler is my 5th Great Grandmother.

Thank you for your time,
Thomas Taylor.

Clayton Stidham
Tahlequah classmate
Hi, Danetta! By some chance I ran across your name and recognized you as one of my 1st grade classmates at Bagley in Tahlequah. We lived on the same little pebble-strewn steet in the barracks/apartments next to the Northeastern campus. It was 1953. We hung out, along with your brother, Arthur, and my brother, Wayne. As I recall, your father had Bibles for sale (a noble occupation if there ever was one). Blessings!

RE: Your brother
Thank you for the response. I am a part of the Brown family too (back to Thomas Brown and Nancy Lytton) and from Jubilee Wheeler who goes back to Rowland Wheeler of Bedford County, Virginia. Next time you plan on coming to Jackson County, please let me know. I'd love to meet you. My cousin Bob Brown might meet us and he knows every nook and cranny in Jackson County. Thanks for replying!

Your brother
I stumbled on your Findagrave listings and wonder if David Wheeler is the late brother you mention in your bio here.

I am a descendant of your Wheeler and Brown family and live very near Jackson County, Tennessee. My paternal great-grandmother, Tennessee Wheeler Carter is buried in Holdenville Cemetery.

What is remarkable to me is how much David Wheeler looks like my father the late Comer Spurlock. I am also a cousin to the late Pam Louder of Holdenville.

Just wanted to say hello and let you know that we have several familial connections and I would be happy to talk about them with you.

Pat Spurlock

RE: Thomas 'Tommie
Yes we are kin! John Jackie and Henderson were brothers as I'm sure you know.

I found your tree on ancestry, you just added my great uncle Matt Brown to your tree.

I will let you know when there is a next festival. I met Joe Brown while I was there but we were leaving and I didn't have much time to talk. As I said Bob took us for a drive. He said it was possible that Thomas was buried where you said so don't worry what others think.

RE: Thomas 'Tommie
If you have a copy of the letter I would love to have it.
Yes I have been there several times and was just there for the genealogy festival in Granville. A man by the name of Bob Brown took me on a tour of the land. He grew up in the area and he was full of information. He agrees that he is buried there somewhere. He had heard he was buried in the Anderson Cemetery that just a a sign nailed to a three. His son Uriah Brown is buried there. But he also thought it was possible he was buried where you think he is.
I wouldn't take it down, I think you could be right. How are you related? His son Henderson is my 3rd grandfather.

Thomas 'Tommie" Brown
How did you get the information that Thomas Brown was buried in this cemetery? I was told he was buried some place else. Do you know where his wife is buried? Thomas is my 4th great grandfather.

Burial Site Information

Earlier this week, I received a "hint" from regarding Thomas Lytton Wheeler.

When I went on-line today, so as to check out the hint, I noticed two points of interest. (1) The application for Thomas Lytton Wheeler's gravestone from the War Department, which had been ordered by my Dad back in 1936. I had not known that.

The second point of interest, however, was when I went to the Find-A-Grave site and found that your on-line information has both Thomas Lytton Wheeler and his wife, Martha Ann Slyger buried in the Wheeler Cemetery at Flynn's Lick in Jackson County, Tennessee.

This is inaccurate.

Both Thomas Lytton Wheeler and his wife, Martha, are buried in the Wheeler Cemetery in White County, Tennessee. The cemetery is about 5 miles out of Sparta, and the cemetery is close to - in fact if my recall is accurate - is adjoining the land that was Thomas Lytton Wheeler's farm.

My grandmother, Lue W. Cooper, a granddaughter of Tom and Martha is buried just a few feet from Tom and Martha's burial sites, as is grandmother's father - Tom and Martha's oldest son, John LeRoy Wheeler.

I'm not sure how one goes about making an on-line correction. However, if you can do so, it will be much appreciated. Also, if you go on-line to the Wheeler Cemetery in White County, Tennessee Find-A-Grave site, I believe that you will be able to verify the information that I have detailed above to you.

My best,

Paul Cooper

I have several Wheelers who married into my family. I am not directly related to them, just to their children. I am happy to defer to your research. I was only asking for clarification to get things straight in my own mind about Amanda Maberry who married first to Alvin C Wheeler. Her death certificate shows her to have been buried in Jackson Co., but the cemetery name is not listed.

I am interested in Elisha's daughter, Sarah Copeland Wheeler, who married Jonas A Reynolds. They married between 1870-1872 and had two children. (Abraham Warrick Reynolds and Margaret Adeline Reynolds) The children were born in Clay Co., MO. Sometime around 1875/1876 Copeland left Jonas taking their two children and returned to her parents home in Jackson Co., TN. Apparently Copeland died between 1876 and 1880 when her two children were living in Elisha's household. After Elisha and Margaret Wheeler died, the children were cared for by their uncle, Alvin C Wheeler and his wife Amanda Maberry.

Would you know when Sarah Copeland Wheeler Reynolds died or where she is buried? Sarah and her brother Alvin C are both listed as 18 in the 1870 census. Would you know if they were twins? Any help you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Governor Shelby Hargis was not the Governor of any state. It was just the name his parents chose for him.

My My great grandmother was a Wheeler. My grandmother was Maggie Adeline Reynolds and her brother was Abraham Warwick Reynolds. They were born in Missouri but when the children were two my great grandmother left her husband due to his bad reputation and moved back to Tennessee,Jackson County, where they had met and married. She lived with her children with her parents, the Wheelers. When her parents died Maggie and Abraham (Coot)we in the car of an older uncle. This happened about 1875. I would appreciate any information you could share on the Wheeler, Reynolds, Harg' (Maggie married Governor Shelby Hargis) families. Thank you for any help you can give.
I signed on to this web site because a picture of Abraham Warick Reynold popped up. I don't know about this site and at present am a bit confused with it's operation. At any rate help if you and and know that iw will be greatly appreciated..
