Hi John,

I went ahead and transferred management or ownership -- whatever term they use on the site -- to you. If nothing else, being in charge of the memorial is a great way to keep track of all your own relatives and ancestors that are on the site. The "virtual cemetery" I created on the site (so much morbid terminology!) has all the kin I've managed to track down through this site or other genealogical records.

Thank you so much for providing me with Mr. Cornwell's correct name. I came upon his headstone while looking for a distant relative of mine (sadly, she's lost in the oldest and most run-down section of the cemetery). Anyway, I thought the headstone was rather unique, and the epitaph is clever, not surprising given the outsize role he clearly played in Dallas's early days.

I have no family connection to him, so if you would like to manage hissite, feel free. Otherwise I'll be glad to do the best I can putting up all the accurate and available info.

Mr. Cornwell is definitely someone worth remembering, but there was nothing to indicate his service as police chief. I'm very glad I found the grave.

RE: Pinky Higgins
Thanks for the information. We were aware of his "problems" but felt they were outweighed by his career.

We'll keep searching for descendants.

Judge, I notice that you posted the Find A Grave information on Pinky Higgins. We of the Adamson High School Alumni Association are trying to find some of his descendants as we honor him by induction into our Hall of Honor of graduates at the end of April, 2011.

Would you happen to know of any contacts for his family?
