Information added. I have been busy with the new Edit button on our contributor tools.....I hadn't even seen it or heard about it until the other day. Wish Find A Grave would have sent us instructions and let us know about it. Anyhow I got caught up and noticed a few of them didn't transfer all the update....so maybe there is still a glitch. Stay warm.

Jacob Pinkerton, Find A Grave Memorial# 38584031
Hi Margaret,
Thanks for posting the photo of the marker for Jacob Pinkerton,Find A Grave Memorial# 38584031. Jacob was in Co D, 120th OVI in the Civil War. I have been researching the 120th Ohio Volunteer Infantry for the last 13 yrs in order to identify the men and tell about their lives. I would like permission to use your photos on my site and on any CD or print copy of my research that I will give to the Wayne County library in Wooster OH. I always give credit for the photos.
Thanks for any help.

George Yoder
I think that my great-uncle George Yoder is buried in the Walnut grove Cemetery, but I did not find him listed.

I created a memorial for him, based on an obituary which stated he was buried here.

(He was a member of the Amish Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held at the Pinecraft Church, Feb. 4, and at Hartville, Ohio, Feb. 7, at the Walnut Grove Amish Church; interment in church cemetery.
Source: Gospel Herald, March 31, 1959)

Could you please check this and if possible add a photo of the gravestone.

Thanks.

Richard Martin
Andrew Wilson Scott memorial page
Hello Margaret,

I may have spoken to you some years ago regarding your creating a memorial page for Andrew Scott, so if we have, please forgive me. I saw the additional information on him in your posting credited to "harony", which was likely a typo in reference to me and my user name which incorporated the word harmony.

Again, forgive me if we went over this in the past... Your surname of Gunn is a surname that actually came up in the distant past of Andrew Scott in the Yanceyville, NC and Danville, VA area (just across the shared border from each other) in a few instances. I may not have found significance in that years ago, as the enumerator entry on the applicable census and the transcription were very hard to make out until some time later. The subsequent clarifications made other connections more clear as well.

If you can contact me directly, I can go over this information with you and not take up your public message space here...

If by chance the Yanceyville/Danville area Gunn family that is related to my Scott family has nothing to do with your family, please forgive all the exposition!

Many thanks,
Richard Martin

RE: Alexander S. George 7780195
Alexander was my wife's biological grandfather. Two years ater his death his widow put up their two children for adoption. She remarried, had ten more chidren, two more husbands, and died in 1974. I'd like to make contact with any of her descendants, but her second family (ten children) were dispersed in a way wich makes me believe there was a divorce, and most of the cildren moved away from Akron. Thanks for the transfer. If you live in the Akron area and are willig to help I can send you the chart,

Alexander S. George, 7780195
Alexander was the biological father of my mother-in-law and her brother. His wife was Myrtle Hutton. Two years after his death she put up their two children for adoption. Then she remarried one year later and had ten more children. I'm hoping to find some of her other descendants, but apparently she was divorced from her second husband and that family moved away from Akron, and I am so far unable to locate many of them, and the ones I have found are deceased. The two children were adopted by a wealthy family in Parma, OH by the name of Riester.

I agree with you that the name is Thomas A. Duffy and that he was 38 years of age.

If you believe this to be your grandfather, I will be glad to transfer the memorial to you - I am not related. I did not have any plot/section information. All I had to work with was the photo.

Let me know if you want me to transfer the memorial to you.

Request for Permission - Henry Ault
Dear Margaret, I am Michael Wood and I maintain a website dedicated to the 16th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Civil War regiment at www.mkwe.com/home.htm. I collect and present all information, images and other material I can find on this unit to which my great great grandfather belonged. I noticed you have published a photo of the gravestone of one of the 16th OVI's soldiers, Henry E. Ault, from Saint Michaels Cemetery in Marshallville, Ohio, at
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=ault&GSfn=henry&GSby=1836&GSbyrel=before&GSdyrel=all&GSob=n&GRid=79085874&df=all&

I am asking your permission to present this photo on my website in the "Laid To Rest" section at http://www.mkwe.com/ohio/pages/gravesites_00.htm.

My site is totally non-commercial and is a memorial to the regiment and for the research and enjoyment of those interested in the Civil War or the 16th OVI in particular.

Please let me know if it's ok to use your photo.

Also, I want to thank you for helping to find and preserve photos and information on our ancestors on FindAGrave.com. You are performing a valuable service for many and helping to keep alive the memory our ancestors.

RE: Charles Ogden 20446876
Thanks for contacting me about this. It is possible that the person who did the research (a now deceased family member) made a mistake. He did make mistakes with other records. The records I have show his parents are James Alfred Ogden and Ellen Elizabeth Mowery. Does that match the death cert you found? (Would you mind sending me an image of that death cert? My email addy is found on my profile page.)

Thanks so much for your help!
