Caleb Cope Speer was my great-great-great-great-grandfather on my mother's side. It's nice to know that I'm also descended from England.

It was very nice to see your photos of the Speer family. I am a Land descendant. Father Caleb Speer married Harriet Land, I hope in 1851.

The Land's immigrated from England in 1848 I think. Still trying to find out the parents religious connection. Was John Edward Land (1805-1855) a minister? Some family lore says Father Land had a Divinity Degree in England.

Harriet's brother David Jacob Land (1836-1916) came to Kansas to homestead.

Thomas Speer (Speers, Spears)
Looking for Thomas Speer married to Goldie Lucinda Hunter. Children: Samuel, Forrest, Marlow, Anna, Asalee, Wallace, Turrila, Shadrack, Lossie, Dudley, Betty. I have all the facts on Golda but don not know what happened to her at death. Heard rumors that she died in an asylum.? Death in 1931? And don't know where she is buried. Information says died in Findley, Il but no grave knowledge. She would be my Great Aunt . Her brother Benjamin Deloss was my Great Grandfather. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you for your time. John Alan Speer
I happened to come across your memorial for John Alan Speer at Saint Marys Cemetery, Roberts, Illinois.

I maintain the records for Lyman Township Cemetery in Roberts and actually have record of his burial at this cemetery. In fact, I was at the cemetery today and saw the very same marker that is pictured in your memorial.

Saint Marys Cem. and Lyman Twp. Cem. are right next to each other in Roberts. Your memorial is absolutely lovely, but I thought you might like to amend it to read Lyman Twp. Cem. I have a memorial for him on our site, but will be glad to completely delete it if you will put yours there.

Just thought you'd want to know.

Speer and Chitwood
I enjoyed the pic of Hugh Chitwood, he is a ancestor of mine on my mothers side. I have never seen a pic of him before. Thank you again.
