|Anne ||Carl crusovnik|
My husband is the grandson of Carl Crusovnik, buried at Scofield Cemetery. My husband's grandfather 's name is actually Karl Grusovnik. We are interested in locating his grave. Can you tell us where it is located at the cemetery? Also, do you know if it is possible for us to have a marker installed? Thank you for your help. Anne Grusonik

unless you didn't get my email from within Find A Grave, it is kinda sad you didn't take the initiative to review your castle gate cemetery records and the one i sent in june 2013 in particular. some one (Lauri) went to the very difficult task to add birth certs to many, if not most/all, of the names; the certs give birth locations and parents names and other info which could be updated.
but if you are only a fan of disasters not of the details of the victims ......

I am looking for information about my great grandad. A.Watson. Do You have any more information about him?
I am looking for his brother Joe. If there might be relatives after him, that we can find.
I would be thankful for your help.
Best regards Elin Friden Watson

|William Roberts||Castle Gate Mine Photos|
I received a couple of photos today from widow of the John Hilton Sr.'s grandson Thomas (J.) Hilton. They are 8x11 photos of the Castle Gate Mine and another of all the miners in front of the Mine. Obviously they were taken before the explosion. Please give me a way to e-mail them to you. You can e-mail it to private account. firstname.lastname@example.org. I have some more Castle Gate information that I want to send to you too.

What a beautiful saying. I plan on asking the Lord if I can have a full time job at Rainbow Bridge for eternity. I hope He says 'yes'.

Since you created the memorial page for Mr. Boleyn, just a quick note to let you know that a slightly better picture of his marker has been posted on the memorial page.
Also, thank you for adding information about him as well as the 2 photos. A few minutes of extra time w/the memorial page makes the person more real and not just a marker.

I have placed many bouquets of wild flowers at the #4 entrance. That area of the canyon is really special. A great grandson of the Farish family, Gary Ungricht and his wife came and visited two years ago. We met them in Scofield and took them to Winter Quarter's. I'll send you more updates after the first of the year. Have a great holiday season. Jacky

I will send some information today. Sometime when your are in the Scofield area my husband and I could get permission to take you to Winter Quarter's. It would have to be in the summer. It was originally called Pleasant Valley but the severe Winters made the people who had heard about Winter Quarters change the name.

|Jacky Caras||Scofield Miner's|
My name is Jacky Caras. Thank you for your interest in these brave men and boys. I have been working for the last 11 plus years to put the families of the disaster back together in hopes of publishing a book. My husband and I both lost ancestors there. I have completed many years of research and do appreciate the photo's and information that you have shared on this site. My own personal story is one that involves the Winter Quarter's Canyon. For five years, until 2008 our family were blessed to be able to live there each summer as we herded our black Angus cattle. In late Sept of 2008 I was in an ATV accident and to make a very long story short, was taken out of the Mts in a helicopter. Many Winter Quarter's angels were with me and my family as they worked to save my life. We love the Winter Quarters Canyon and feel that is a hallowed spot. I have been working with Kathy Haymaker sharing some of my research, she has been gracious in adding it to her site. I was wondering if you would also accept some additions and corrections for some of your work. The Aftermath is the name of my book and some of the stories of courage and fortitude of those families who were left behind is one that I feel deserves telling. Thank you so much for all of your hard work for my miners and many others. Please let me know. Jacky Caras

I just wanted to thank you for making the corrections to the memorials to my great-grandparents little ones, who the lost as small children in Winter Quarters, near Scofield. They raised five other children to adulthood, two of whom are still living, though they're getting right up there in age.
I appreciate your work on this project, and am a little jealous--I hope I can find a little cemetery somewhere that I can document.

I really appreciate your expertise in the coal mine projects. Utah State death certificates began in 1905 (with a handful dating late 1904). So that resource is a great opportunity to add to the pages you have created and dedicated to the miners who died at Castle Gate in 1924. Those who died at Scofield in 1900 will not have death certificates.
Do you know who commissioned and financed the headstones at Castle Gate which are similar in design? I would also like to know who carved them. What a solemn undertaking.
One other question: Do you know anything about the 1894 Black Diamond/Fairfield coal mine disaster in King County Washington?
Keep up the good work!

I am uploading death certificates to the pages you have created for the victims of the Castle Gate coal mine disaster in 1924. I hope that is okay with you. Please rearrange the "photos" as you think best. Even if the certificate falls to the back page, at least descendants will have access.

Will you please link Edward (#15792883) to his father (31708156, Alma Nephi Hardee) and his mother (52093963, Margaret Mary Jones Hardee). Alma and Margaret were my grand aunt and uncle which makes Edward my first cousin 1X removed. Thanks!!
