Abraham Dean Nora (Mappin) Russell
Hello Stephen,

I'm a grandson of the subjects noted (my mother was Betty Dean). I'm guessing you talked with a cousin of mine that said Abraham was also Grey Wolf. This is just a fabrication on the cousins part to help them maintain a certain character image. Just wanted to make you aware of this.

Best regards,
Mike J.

Thanks so much for the information on Lamach Blandin Jr. and his wife, Lydia Lambert Bandin. I have not made it to the Blandinsville yet, and was wandering if there is an actual gravesite. This is exciting to learn, and I will pass it on to other family members. Thank you so much for your time. Donna (Blandin) Fannin

Hi. The birth date for John William Graham is 2/22/1882, according to his gravestone and census records. Will you please correct this in his FindaGrave record? Thank you!

RE: Anthony and Mary Ausbury
Thank you for the Lamb obituaries. I appreciate your sending them. For the most part they will help in identifying the "other" Lambs of McDonough Co. As it happens only Elizabeth Lamb who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Antony Ausbury, is apart of the family that I trace. I maintain a file on other Lambs in that county so those obits have a place to be an informational resource in the future.

I am working on a display for the Library in observation of Family History Month in October. Seems one thing or the other has delayed my research. Previously I did this with another member of our genealogical society but she is now busy being Regent for the local DAR chapter.

Many thanks,
Jay

Your last e-mail attachment was for five Ausbury obituaries, not Lamb obits. Looking forward to seeing the Lamb obits.

Thanks,

Thank you for the various items that you sent I appreciate them. Have been sidetracked so I haven't yet reviewed everything. I'll respond better when everything has been reviewed.

I am work on the Lamb genealogy so my interest is in Anthony W. Ausbury and Mary Ellen Lamb, their family, and descendants.

Many thanks,
Jay

RE: Anthony and Mary Ausbury
Sounds like a great project. I would be interested to see the article.

I added to Find A Grave an infant daughter of Anthony W. and Mary Ellen (Lamb) Ausbury.

Eleanor Barclay listed on her family group sheet two additional infants who died young. No names were included. I am still reviewing those.

Thanks, I saw the plot maps on the memorials. I edited the sort order so the gravestones would show at the top.

Thank you so much for the various items that you shared. I appreciate them and look forward to more completely reviewing each one and will probably have questions following that review.

The family group sheet for Thomas Glen Ausbury 1809-1887 has an arrow pointing to his son, Isaac Newton Ausbury. Is Isaac in your lineage?

Enclosed is a family group sheet for Anthony W. Ausbury and Mary Ellen Lamb prepared by Elizabeth (Taylor) Barclay. She died a number of years ago.

This has been a busy time. This morning I printed the attachments that you sent and am just now, at the end of the day, having the opportunity to respond.

Thanks!

Jay G. Lamb

PS For some reason my attempts to respond to your "reply-to" address were rejected. So I am responding via findagrave.com. I'll try sending the family group sheet later.

I do not know if he served our country. I am sorry!

I suggest you request a photo of his gravestone and that might tell the tale.

Thank you for the update and for your efforts to fix this problem. Unfortunately, the person who created this memorial is now deceased so the error can't be removed.

Stephen,

Thank you for attempting to fulfill my photo request for America VanMeter. I really appreciate the time and effoprt you went to. Unfortunately, I am not the person who made this memorial, but I have sent them a message with the info you provided in reference to the fact she is not in that cemetery. This Find A Grave member is not very active so it may be a long time, if ever, before she fixes the memorial.

Even more interesting, I also see the person buried below him in the photo, and that individual is also buried in Oakwood and listed on Find A Grave.

Interesting because there is a photo of one on an ancestry tree in a mausoleum and it says it is in Oakwood. I'm not familiar with the cemetery and he did die here in California . . . do you have access to ancestry so you could look at the photo?
