Monticello/Monticelli
You have added many photos (and grateful) in Lakeside Cemetery for Monticelli's. You have added a note advising that there are separate headstones labeled Monticello. I was wondering if you have photo's of the Monticello stones.

I communicated with Linda but she suggested contacting you as you posted the info.

I have info on him to add shortly but would ask that you check his middle name. Everything I have shows no middle name but his son definitely had William as a middle name but never with the designate "Jr." I think it's possibly confusion between the two.

Thanks

Louis Kmet
Dale,

Louis graduated from Proviso Township High School in Maywood, Illinois. He next attended Notre Dame University for two years.

Here is his page on Proviso's website:

http://www.proviso.k12.il.us/Bataan%20Web/Kmet.htm

I teach at Proviso East and maintain the website. I would say supervise, but there is almost no work left to do on it. I edit and add photos.

The initial information came from a memorial book from the ceremony they held, in 1949, when the school district dedicated "Memorial Garden" at the high school.

Here is a link to the pictures of the garden:

http://www.proviso.k12.il.us/Bataan%20Web/Proviso%20ATW%201.htm

Scroll down and you will see his name on one of the plaques that are on the walls of the school in the garden.

Jim

RE: Harris
Hi Dale

Many thanks for the correspondence. I have been in contact with my relatives and they have no correspondence from Jane Harris. On the 1900 census they lived in Neganee Marquette, 1910 census Forsyth, 1920 census Iron, 1930/40 census Stamburgh. I have many relatives from the Redruth/St.Agnes area, the village of Brea is only three miles from Redruth, when you were in Cornwall you may have seen a large hill called the "Carn" with a castle and monument on it, the village of Brea is at the bottom of this hill, around this hill there were many tin mines the last to close was South Crofty in the 1980's this mine is only a mile from Brea. I am sure our relatives must haave met at some time with the choir trips they used to visit all the chapels around Cornwall my mother said they used to travel on a Haywain singing all the way. I have been tracing my family tree if I find any of the names you mentioned I will let you know. If you come across the name Nancarrow in your research this is a real cornish name.

Regards

Betty

RE: Martin Lalley
I just realized that the date I gave you in my last message for Celia Lalley's death is after the fire that destroyed records for Evergreen cemetery...so please disregard that part of my message...the place of burial for Martin Lalley's parents James and Celia is still a mystery...to be solved before too long perhaps!

Thanks again.

RE: Martin Lalley
Dale,

This is amazing!!! Thank you so much!!!

If you do Ancestry.com, or even if you don't, I would be happy to invite you to view my family tree to find out more about the Lalley's. I just recently discovered much of this...first by finding a death certificate for my great grandmother Mary Lalley McKenna, and then by finding a death record on Family Search. org for John Lalley with more detailed information. Both Mary and John were siblings of Martin. I also have a marriage record for Martin and Nellie.

Let me know if you would like to see more of this information.

Meanwhile, Martin's father was James Lalley and his mother Celia / Cecilia Welsh...they were both from Mayo, Ireland. I am still trying to find more about them. Re: Celia's death - 15 May 1891 Age: 65 Iron Mountain, Dickinson, Michigan /
possibly Crystal Falls, a district within Iron Mountain / probably buried in Evergreen Cemetery, but fire destroyed records in 1885, shortly after cemetery was bought from the Catholic Church.
I don't yet have a record for James Lalley's death...possibly Crystal Falls, as with his wife Celia....or maybe I will find him living with one of his children after his wife died...still looking for this.

Thanks so much for what you have contributed!

Thanks!
Thank you Dale! Would you please look at the picture I added to Grandpa Lindrus's memorial. That's my mom and my aunt visiting his grave. you can't read it because the picture is poor quality but it does say Lindrus.

Thank you again!

Hi Dale,

I linked Anne to her father, according to you. I have not been able to confirm it but I can't rule it out either. There was a Jacob Siira who might have been her father also. Janine

Dale - Thank you so much for sharing this information! You have helped make a connection I have been wondering about in my family history!

Burial:
Iron River Cemetery

Michigan, USA
Plot: Section 16 Lot 2

This Martin Lalley I am sure is the brother of my Great grandmother Mary Lalley who married Patrick McKenna in Marquette Co. in 1871 and lived much of her life in Quinnesec in Dickinson Co. She was the oldest sibling, born in England enroute to America from Co. Mayo, Ireland...arriving in 1851 to stay with a relative in New Jersey. She died in 1922 in Butte, Montana while visiting a daughter who was living there. She had moved from Michigan to live with another daughter in Los Angeles a few years before...

She is not mentioned here, but she had a sister Catherine "Cait" who married Ford and later Edwards. The Catherine Edwards listed here must be this sister.

I am very grateful for your work!

That's what confused me was that you did take the photo of the sign for Hillcrest Cemetery and I think that is great but right under your name they have "do not put any photos on this site" or something close to it. so thank you for clearing up this confusion and I will post his stone now. Thank you and will keep in mind for some of the stones I may need in the future and would be glad to do the same for you.

Thank you for putting my mothers picture and info in the Hillcrest Cemetery It was still so fresh when this was done I really appreciate it. I orginally thought my friend put it in but after I checked the site I see it was you.

As for my father I am going to put the stone on his also so I hope your "put no photos" on this site (Charles Taylor in Hillcrest in Bessemer, MI) will not let me so so.

If you are checking for Family Trees I am into this also and have Trees going for family in Gogebic and Ontonagan among others. If you think I can help in finding some of yours. Please email me and I can get you info to start. I do also have relatives in Iron County and am working on them Please contact me

Martin Leppanen's grave
Hi,
It wouldn't let me edit this memorial. I was wondering if you could do it for me. I'm his niece. Martin was born in Jalasjarvi, Finland.
Thanks so much. You do beautiful work, and thank you very much for the photo of his grave. He was my favorite uncle, and I've never gotten to see his gravestone.
