I hate email and messages...
It seems like there is no way to send someone a message without it being taken wrong or angry.

I am sincerely sorry that you thought I was angry at you. I was not.

I am beginning to just hate Find A Grave in general. It is impossible to do anything without people getting upset.

I just cringe every time I send someone an edit request. I am always waiting for the other show to drop.

I also cringe every time I receive a notification that someone just left me a message on my message board.

I think to myself, "Good grief, what have I done now..."

Again, I am sorry that my message to you was misunderstood. It was not directed at you. I did not word it well enough to convey what I was trying to say and I apologize for that.

Deb

RE: Euna Murdoch
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!

I didn't send you an angry email! Good grief! You must get a lot of angry messages to have misconstrued mine as an angry one.

My email to you is below. I think you misunderstood my comment. I was commenting on why people who post photos to memorials where the photo clearly shows the correct spelling, why they don't submit an edit to have it corrected on the memorial. That was NOT directed at you.

Your comment in her bio was accurate. It was spelled both ways on various records. It wasn't until someone posted the grave photo that the question was settled. Why didn't that person send you an edit? THAT is what I don't understand.

Below was my message to you. Sorry you misunderstood it.

************
Hello, I sent you a SAC edit to correct the spelling of her first name. Like you mentioned in the bio, "Name could also be spelled Euna." Her name is indeed spelled Euna. A photo of her grave marker was added to her memorial. Why people do not submit corrections when they post photos that show the correct spelling of someone, I will NEVER understand. Anyway, please accept the SAC I sent to you to correct the spelling. Thanks! Deb
************

Thank you for correcting her name on her memorial. My point was that the person who posted the photo should have alerted you to the correct spelling.

You posted the memorial on
11/11/2011

Shipman posted the photo on
8/13/2013

I alerted you that the correct spelling was shown on the photo that Shipman posted more than two years ago.
10/28/2015

So, for more than two years, the name remained spelled wrong. Shipman should have alerted you by sending you an edit TWO YEARS AGO. Not wait for me two more years LATER to notice it, and send you an edit. Why didn't she send one two years ago?

That was my point in my email to you. Not to blast YOU. But to blast people who post photos with accurate names, dates, and relationships, but then never bother to send edits to update the memorials. What is the point then, ya know????

Deb :)

William Ellis
Hello - I ran across your memorial page #87530529 for William Ellis today. It states burial unknown. But the official city records for Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau have him buried in Old Section C lot 337 grave 4 and I made a memorial page for him #114752863 Aug 2013. There is no grave marker and I cannot find his date of birth either and estimated it as you did at 1840. You can leave your memorial page if you choose but thought you might like to know where is is buried. Ruth Smith

Lumans at New Lorimier
Dianne: I was revising the records for New Lorimier today and added an infant male Luman
B: July 16, 1922
D: July 16, 1922
None of the members of the Luman family (Katherine and Bernice) are marked as having tombstones.
I tried to add their birth dates - we shall see.

If you would like this infant male Luman transferred to you, please let me know. Ruth

RE: Holligan Family
Hi Dianne,

I became interested in the Holligan family beginning with a FindAGrave photo request for Thomas Holligan at Green Acres Memorial Park in Scottsdale, Arizona. My husband and I noticed some additional family members buried close by and we took photos of their grave markers as well. Most interesting were twin brothers who were buried next to their father, Thomas, even though they both died in California, according to the California Death Index I found. We are not related to the Holligans and I am very happy to transfer management of all the FindAGrave Holligan memorials to a relative.

I worked on a family tree for the Holligans using ancestry.com and found William Robert Holligan fairly easily. He died in Phoenix, AZ but may have wanted to be buried in another state, or may have been cremated. He may be buried at Green Acres but just not near the father's grave site. You could call the cemetery and ask if he is there. If you do find his grave site, (or find out that he was cremated), you can add him to the FindAGrave site.

If you'd like to see the Holligan family tree I created on ancestry.com let me know.

Thanks for your message.

Mary

Sally Rodgers and Wm. Rodgers
Dianne:
it seems like I always have bad news for you. I have taken pictures at New Lorimier in all of section 1 and there were no markers for Sally and William Rodgers. But to make sure, I went back today and looked in Section 1 - lot 57 and still no graves for them. So I placed a picture of the area where they are buried. Hope this is acceptable.

Saw your note about census records saying he was born in Texas...very possible. Yeso is, even now, a tiny little place, but not far from the Texas border. Lubbock would have had decent medical service in 1921 - I'm not so sure about Albuquerque. We lived in Albuquerque in the late '40s. One brother was born there, but since the next pregnancy had complications, they sent Mom to San Antonio. Hope someone gets the photos for you!

Mary Backus
Hello Dianne:
I was at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape today and looked for the Backus family to take pictures. Some of the family are buried in section 3 lot 48 but there are no markers there so I took a "general picture" in that area where lot 48 is located. Mary F. Backus is listed on the Fairmount records as not having a marker nor does Paul Backus. They are buried in the "P" section which I believe would be indigent section. Hope this acceptable to you since you originated her page. Ruth Smith

You're welcome, glad to be able to help! And yes, feel free to use the photo....

I actually took a bunch of photos there several months ago and just haven't had a chance to post them yet. There are 3 other Powers markers that aren't currently listed. If you'd like to make the pages, I'll post the photos:
Daniel Ellis Powers (1953-1992)
Daniel Edward Powers (1931-1999)
Virginia L (Brissette) Powers (1930-2000)
