Howdy you left a note on his memorial [[Samuel, also known as Simeon, was the son of Stephen & Susanna Vance Fitch. RIP Samuel.- Carole
Added: Jun. 14, 2011]]
I am looking for a Sam Fitch possibly mrd an Alice Gladhill had a dau Minnie born 1897, just found her in 1925 in an Iowa census listing her dad and that they mrd in ILL. Do you have any idea if this Sam might possibly be the one I am looking for at all,
the site says he was 67 when he died and he died in 1924 which means he was born in 1857 so he is a good candidate for Minnie's dad.
any help is appreciated, thanks kindly
can see Minnie's mother memorial for more info

I added your information and changed maiden name.
Don't need you to transfer Max Smith to me. I didn't know them.
Re: Fairy Isabelle Smith (65660599)
Fairy Isabelle Smith's maiden name was Foster. Bassett was her mother's maiden name. Herparents were Frederick Andrew & Fairy Ella Bassett Foster. This is a clip from her husband's obituary, "He married Fairy Foster on Sept. 7, 1947." Thank you for updating her information. If you would like to have Max M. Smith transferred to you I would gladly transfer him.

You are very welcome. And I think you are quite right. The place must have reminded them of their homeland. I have seen photos and met people from there. Some still keep traditons in the families. Knitting might be one of them. That was very common here and some women still knit. Most women knitted socks, scarfs, gloves, hats... here for the whole family as gifts on Christmas. They people I talked with, told me they still use the old recipes to make sausages and brew beer.
Hogenmüller and Grieshaber sound like names from Baden or Bavaria. But there are no families with this name close to my place.
