 | Gen. Andrew Reid Hi Dennis,
I am currently researching the descendants of Andrew Reid's son Alexander Reid who d. ca. 1775 in Rowan/Iredell County, N.C.
I would love to be in touch with you to share some info AND to find your documentation regarding his children.
I've been able to document three and wonder where you found documentation on the others.
Also, I've found evidence that Andrew died in Albemarle County, Va., not N.C.
Thank you,

 | RE: Do you know who her parents in Alabama were? Or where in Alabama she was born? The parents of Rebecca Reed Walker (# 61379769) were Austin Butler Reed and Gracie Scott Reed. Her memorial is linked to them. This family appeared in the 1850 census for Jackson Parish, LA so it is unknown where in Alabama she was born. If you click on her father's memorial, its contributor provides a bit more information there.

 | Black Cree Church Dennis,
I noted that you and another contributor, Tammy, both took a picture of the Black Creek Cemetery in AL. According to the V.A. records, My Great Grandfather, Elias Rouse, Civil War soldier, from the Georgia 18th Infantry was buried in the "Black Creek Church Cemetery", Collinsville, AL in 1862. From the Historical society, I gather that this cemetery was never really in Collinsville, but with a Collinsville mailing address and actually located in Etowah County. I called and spoke to the pastor of the now Black Creek Church and he said that he did not believe it was in their cemetery and that it might be in "old" Black Creek Church cemetery and they were no longer affiliated with that land.
That leaves several questions that I wonder if you or your friends in that area could help me with. Where was the Black Creek Church in 1862? What is on that property today? Is it a church or private land? Are there any graves still there.
The pastor did mention that they have a few unmarked graves in their cemetery. Do you know where I would find the paper records of any burials during the period of 1862 during the Civil War. Were there any Civil War hospitals in the area during that period?
I would like to find his gravesite, if that is possible, so that I can see that he has a marker placed on his grave.
Feel free to forward this to anyone who has an interest in finding an elusive Civil War grave in the Etowah.
Thank you for your help in gathering any information possible.
Regards,
Nancy Brenner Great Granddaughter of Elias Rouse 1830-1862 nbrenner@seabridgeus.com

 | William Jenkins Whisenant Thanks for the information you provided. Actually, the local archives director asked me to help prove that Green Franklin Whisenant was the son of William Jenkins Whisenant by providing a census report or a will that listed Green Franklin as his son. Since WJW didn't leave a will, the 1840 census was my best bet.

 | William Jenkins Whisenant I don't have access to census reports. If you still do, would you attempt to locate William Jenkins Whisenant in the 1840 census? He is supposed to have had a son named Green Franklin Whisenant born in 1827. Green Franklin would, most likely, have been too old to appear on the 1850 census, but may have still been living at home in 1840.
I'm trying to help someone determine a documented connection between this father and son. A census report would be ideal. Any help you may be able to provide will be appreciated.
