Thank You
Thank you, for taking all those pictures I really appreciate it because I am creating a online memorial on fold3.com for the Lomita Veterans Memorial. And I am creating a Virtual Cemetery for it and even plan to make it it's own memorial page here on Find A Grave. And I would like those pictures of his parents. And again thank you so much!

Claude Davis
I have a question, that I hope you can answer. Nell's obituary states that she married a Emerson Davis. Since the tombstone gives his name as Claude I must assume that is correct, Could Emerson perhaps have been a nickname? Is there anyway to check this information?
You also asked me if I would like you to transfer ownership of Claude's memorial. Would you please explain what this means and what duties I would need to do? I'm embarrassed to admit that I am still a little green about the proper etiquette I should be using both as a contributor and for all of the people who help me find the graves of my deceased families. Please Enlighten me, and again
I sincerely thank you for your help.
Nancy

RE: Nell & Claude Davis
Could you please tell me where the memorial for Claude is? Is he buried in the same cemetery as Nell?
Thank you for your time and help.

RE: Helen Kaserman
Sorry if this is a duplicate reply, but I am a little overloaded with projects and get mixed up somewhat.
Re: I did finally receive a death certificate for Helen Kaserman. Seems that she actually was Ellen M Kaserman Born Dec 6, 1891,in Freeport, Maine and took the name Helen back in the 1930's. Sadly it seems that she fell Dec 9, 1978, and broke her hip in a nursing home in Long Beach, had surgery on the hip ,and was in recovery, when she had a heart attack. She died Feb 5 1979, Los Angeles USC Medical Center. She was cremated April 2 1979. After multiple calls to the Coroner's office and the County Crematory, the best I can come up with, is that the cremanes were disgarded. I gather then, that there was no burial for her. Getting any further information from their offices is nearly impossible.
I, therefore can only assume that she was not buried, but cremanes were disguarded in some offical fashion. I intent to have a memorial marker placed in the cemetery where her parents are buried in Freeport, Maine.

Thank you for your interest in this matter. dean

RE: Helen Kaserman 1891-1979)
HELLO SOMETIME BACK YOU DID SOME RESEARCH FOR ME, FOR THE GRAVE SITE OF HELEN KASERMAN. ACTUALLY HER NAME WAS SADIE ELLEN DOUCETTE WHITEHEAD KASERMAN. SHE WAS KNOWN TO OUR FAMILY AS HELEN KASERMAN. I FINALLY GOT A REPSONSE FROM SACRAMENTO CA, AND OBTAINED A COPY OF HER DEATH CERTIFICATE.
SEEMS THAT SHE DIED IN A NURSING HOME 2-5-79, FROM A FALL,BROKE HER HIP AND NEVER RECOVERED.
HER REMAINS WERE TURNED OVER TO THE COUNTY, AND SHE WAS CREMATED 4-2-79. THERE IS NO RECORD OF HER BURIAL, AND FROM WHAT I CAN GATHER AFTER MAKING FIVE PHONE CALLS TO THE LOCAL OFFICIALS IN LOS ANGELES . THEY SAID IF HER CREMAINS WERE NOT CLAIMED WITHIN A PERIOD OF TIME, THEY WERE DISPOSED OF. THEY HAD NO RECORD AVAILABLE TO SHARE WITH ME. IN FACT I HAD DIFFICULTY UNDERSTAND THE PERSON ON THE PHONE, AND I DID NOT SPEAK SPANISH.

NOT SURE WHAT DISPOSED OF MEANS, BUT BELIEVE THAT IT IS A SAD END TO HER LIFE, TO BE HANDLED IN THAT MANNER. WE LOST COMMUNICATION WITH HELEN IN THE MID 1970'S AND ONLY NOW HAVE THE STORY OF WHAT HAPPENED TO HER. HOW SAD.................

I AM TRYING TO LOCATE THE BURIAL SITE OF HER PARENTS IN MAINE, AND SEE IF I CAN HAVE A MEMORIAL MARKER PLACED THERE IN HER NAME. SHE CAME FROM A LARGE FAMILY AND SEEMS UNLIKELY THAT SHE WOULD BE JUST FORGOTTEN BY ALL IN THIS MANNER.

REGRETFULLY YOURS,

DEAN LILLIS

Nell and Claude Davis
Mike,
I am so so very thankful for your hard work and diligence in finding the grave site and information on Nell Davis and her husband Claude. Yes please add the information you created on Claude as well.
Nell and Claude are my Aunt and Uncle on my birth side being the sister of my mother Alice Carolyn Guthrie Harner. I am just learning and finding the family I missed out on due to extenuating circumstances that led to the separation from my mother and my adoption to another family.
I truly appreciate your time and work all that you have done for me.

The information that I got on this was from his father who since has passed away.

It's a possibility that it may be Holy Cross Cemetery. I know that it would be a Catholic Cemetery in Long Beach, CA.

You Are Most Welcome!
Isn't it amazing, Mike, how many neat things are "out there" for us genealogists?? I, too, love the site for calculating the dates, etc. In fact, it is in my list of favorites for easy access!! Sharing is what this hobby is all about, and that website certainly related to "Find A Grave." You were so kind to send the note of thanks! Barb

Emma Wickham
Dear Mike,
I m so sorry to have put you to so much trouble. My grandmother Emma was bur ied under the name "Healey". I put Wickham because that was her sons name. She is buried next to him. (Walter Wickham). She has no stone. There was bad feelings between her and my father when she died in 1963. He refused to put one up and I couldn't afford to. I have changed her page on Find A Grave to read Emma Fenwick Wickham Healey. I have also explained this to Kay Sutherland who requested the picture. Thank you for your time and trouble.
