Lynde tombstones
May I have your permission to use your pictures from the Guilford Center Cemetery for my Ancestry tree? I would, of course, give you the credit for them.

Thanks!

I have added a picture of Elizabeth's headstone.
The one you have in there is for Eliza Bixby Lynde.

Thanks Ray

Sir Samuel Smith Sr.
1)Sir Samuel Smith Sr. Find A Grave #145184501 is the father of Lt. Samuel Smith II.

2)Samuel Smith Sr.'s father is Sir Anthony Smith Find A Grave#145187691

3)Anthony's father is Sir Thomas Smith (1492-1541)

4) Thomas' father is Sir William Smith.

There quite a history of their peerage in England.
Also there is a "Biography of Pamela Colman Smith"
that you should read about Lt. Samuel Smith II, that you could add to his Find A Grave Memorial.

Hope this helps.

All my Best,
Karen

Edwards Memorial Problem
Hi S.A.,

Your email address doesn't work so I'm leaving a public message . . .

I believe there is a problem with your memorial 6633143 for Almira E. (Smith) Edwards born 20 Apr 1823; died 5 Feb 1885. Almira actually died 5 Feb 1895; not 1885 per record from Ancestry.com. But the real problem is you show her to be the wife of Willis C. Edwards born in 1845, but I believe she is actually Willis' mother.

There is another newer memorial set up for Almira on #128982710 that has the correct dates for the gravestone picture you posted on memorial #6633143.

When Willis C. Edwards died in 1871 his death record indicates he was married. From the 1870 Guilford VT Census it appears Willis' wife name was Lizzie, born about 1847 in NH.

Please review and let me know what your think. I'm hoping you will work with the other memorial owner to correct the records.

Thank you,
Karen Tomecek

Samuel Smith 1602-1680
Hi - I'm researching my 9th GGF, Samuel Smith (1602-1680) and came across this memorial for him on Find A Grave. However, although the comments shown describe him, the gravestones pictured are for a Lt. Samuel Smith, who died in 1767, and his wife Mary, who died in 1807.

RE: Capt Otis, and Lois Childs
here is a link to all of the Childs memorials I have:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?GSfn=&GSln=childs&page=gsr&GSmid=47283828

here is a link to all of the Parsons memorials I have:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?GSfn=&GSln=parsons&page=gsr&GSmid=47283828

If you want any, I need you to use the "edit" tab on each individual memorial and send me a correction/suggestion with your request, then the email to me via Find A Grave will include the link to the correct memorial. It's one at a time (tedious?) but I don't mind and it insures I transfer what you are looking for.

thanks and I am glad to connect relatives :)

RE: Capt Charles Boardman
Hi,

Yes I am of Boardman descent on my mother's side. There are many Boardmans, some of whom left CT for Albany, NY, also many went into VT. Some in Burlington, Rutland & St. Albans. I am new at this findagrave but am confident that my information when finally posted is accurate. -sswenson

Dear fellow Find a Graver, As a "Smithie" I beg you to correct the spelling of the word, "conceived" in your bio of Ms. Smith! You misspelled it (concieved). Grammar rule: "i" before "e", except after "c". Thank you! Blessings and wishes for peace profound. :D
