Just a message
That's alright, the error is not yours, it's a transcription error that I believe the cemetery made. My worries are always the dates of birth of the informants on death certificates. Thank you for the correction.

According to Minnie's Missouri death certificate, she July 16, 1947 rather than 1942. FYI

LaVerne,
Your contributions to Findagrave are much appreciated. Without your Lindemann memorials, I'd never have discovered death dates and interments...much less links. I thank you!
Your friend,

A & M Farms
Western Lutheran Giessows
LaVerne- Are there any plot owner records for this cemetery? Do you have any ideas as to how I can find further family information on Ketie, Louis, Pauline, Winnebald, etc? I am at a dead end on these children. (All Giessow spellings Giesson, etc.)
Thanks so much for your help

RE: Johnston, Arthur Samuel Family Info
BTW, I don't have burial info on the rest of his family...just a couple of them.

I have the funeral cards, but no cemeteries were listed.

Is this info handy?

Thanks!

Zee

p.s.: I AM coming to STL, but not sure how mobile I'll be, as I'm riding...

RE: Johnston, Arthur Samuel
Thanks, I'd caught that on the DC but could not get this site to open at our library!

That being said, I'm concerned that the DC might be incorrect if the rest of his fam is at the other graveyard.

You see, I contacted the funeral home about their location (I have several funeral cards, NO cemetery listed, just the funeral home), but it was part of some amalgamated pool of funeral homes and I got an indirect reply that I haven't had time to follow up on.

Lots of typing. Next time, I'll save every e-mail like that out in Word, first. ha

But thanks for the leads. Since a number of them were married women, I'll have to get the cards and keep them handy so I can look up all the appropriate surnames and link them or, as the case may be, add them.

Thanks again, LaVerne!

Zee

p.s.: ...May even BE in STL this month. Maybe I can drive around and check it all out for myself. ha

RE: Marie Pohlmann Linhardt
LaVerne,

There is no need to transfer Marie Linhardt to me, although I do appreciate the offer.

You asked why I requested that you link Marie Linhardt to Peter and Anna Pohlmann. In summary:

From the 1880 census, I knew that the Pohlmanns had a daughter born in 1875 named Marie. She was no longer with the family on the 1900 census, so that led me to conclude that she had died or, more likely, married before 1900.

From other research I've done on Lutheran families in north St. Louis County, I knew that Anna Vogelsang Pohlmann's ancestors were Lutheran and many of her relatives attended Salem Lutheran Church in Black Jack. Your memorial stated that Marie Pohlmann was married in a nearby north county Lutheran church in 1895.

Next, I then found Peter Pohlmann's 1917 obituary in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and it listed a surviving daughter as Mary Pohlmann Linhardt. It has been my experience that Maria, Marie and Mary were often used almost interchangeably at that time. I have a transcript of the obituary posted on Peter's Find A Grave memorial if you would like to read it.

Additionally, Peter Pohlmann, his wife, other children and Marie were all buried in the same north county (predominantly) Lutheran cemetery.

I wish I had Marie's death certificate so I could see what it says about her parents, but I don't. Despite that, I thought there was enough evidence to conclude that she could be linked to Peter and Anna Pohlmann.

Of course, as the owner of Marie's memorial, that decision is up to you. Regardless, thanks for your time.

Cordially,
Lynn

RE: Grote Family
LaVerne,

Thanks.

Absolutely no need to transfer them. I just like to get as many links and as much information as possible on Find A Grave for others who may be trying to trace their roots.

I do a lot of research on those buried at Salem Lutheran Church in Black Jack. (I have relatives there.) That's how I happened to come across the Grote information and hoped that you wouldn't mind adding it to your memorials.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate the tips for Immanuel sources you sent, too.

Lynn

There is no need to transfer them to me if you are willing to add the information and links.

Thanks for your efforts!

Grosse Transfers
Thanks for transferring the Grosses to me. I have updated their pages. I know that Mortiz was a school teacher, but haven't found where he taught school at yet. They lived on W 13th St. when he died, so I'm not sure where that is in relation to Immanuel. I don't where there would be records to see if he taught there or not.
