I just sent marriage and children information. The dates I gave you were for married years to each spouse.
Thanks, Carolee Grove #47648201

George E.R. Laighton
Hi David,
Thanks for the photo of George Edwin Richards Laighton! I have spent many years looking for the "E.R." George listed his full name on his 2nd marriage registration to Ann Eliza Phillips Baker in the town of Raynham, MA. That marriage took place 9 Apr 1868. I am assuming that George was buried in Stoughton where his first wife died in 1865. She may be buried at Evergreen without a marker. His daughter Henrietta Augusta Laighton married George Capen and they moved to Oregon about 1876. The name Edwin continues to be used in my family. I think the name "Richard" should really be "Richards" although the clerk did not add the "S" to the name. George's mother was Sarah (Sally) Ward Richards. George E.R. was named for his maternal grandfather, Rev. George Richards, a Universalist minister in Portsmouth, NH and Philadelphia, PA.

Photo deletion
Hi David,
Could you delete your grave photo here?

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=89851640

You have it on the correct memorial here

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Caddell&GSiman=1&GScid=91216&GRid=100607553&

In both cases, you placed a photo on memorials for the correct gentleman, but it's a long story about the other contributor, burial unknowns, refusal to delete BU memorials under any circumstances etc etc...
Thanks!
~Jen~

Grave of Rose Mary Harrington
My name is Patricia Klepper and I came across your information on Ancestry.Com.
I have been searching for quite sometime for the grave of my Dad's sister who passed away in Stoughton on 9/20/1916 when she was only 2 yrs old. The records that I have indicate that she is buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton but the cemetery say they have no record. Her death record indicates that she is.
Can you give me some info on where else to try to find out where she is buried?
Thank you.

Jonathan W. Madan
Thank you so much for your time consuming search for my ancestor Jonathan W. Madan. Old Massachusetts records say he was buried in Maplewood. I'm sure he is there just without a headstone. It is a shame that so many old records are lost in time. This is not the first time you have helped me find relatives. I am forever great full to you. Thank you David so much ! I pray that you will be blessed for your efforts in helping so many people.

Hi David,

I just bought your book down at NEHGS down in Boston today. It is an excellent quick reference. I like the details abt town incorporation date and from which town each town originated from. Great Book!

S. Minot Crane
Hello David,

I finally tracked down your member number so I could transfer Mr. Crane to you. Find A Grave doesn't make it easy! You didn't specify which S. Minot Crane you wanted to transfered so I transfered both. I had a S. Minot Crane and a Stanley Minot Crane. Since they are probably the same person, feel free to delete one if they turn out to be duplicates.

Thank you,
genealogylady

Summer
Hello, Mr. Lambert
I was wondering if you could give me some insight as to why "Find A Grave" would, add their name to my memorials to "Maintain" them and I did not request this takeover of these memorials...I am the "Contributor"
I have been with "Find A Grave" now, over 9 years.
I did some research about transfers and I see, that it is not that easy to just do that, because someone may want them.

However, with mine they just went online and added their ownership "Maintained by Find A Grave" to these and I was unaware...until I found them.

Another incident in the past, someone, a trouble maker online, told F.A.G - my father was still living and sadly he is not. I had to literally fight to prove to F.A.G that sadly my Dad was not still living. They took my "Memorial" away from me and wouldn't let me have it..it was turned into an awful mess...my dear Dad's memory.
I was able to view it but not have it back.

Finally, they realized he was still living.

Trouble makers seem to get the advantage on those
who are working to make this all come together.
I am not a child, I am a parent and a grandparent & we are a close family

Hope to hear from you,

Sincerely,
Summer

Catherine Knollin
Have a relative who died 5 Feb 1851 at only one year of age, Katherine Knollin. The record on Ancestry.com reflects the internment place, but it is impossible to read, but the word "south" is evident and I've come to believe it is the South End Burying Ground. The entry had the number "60" in front of it, and I've read that might mean the tomb number. Wondering if you'd have an opinion on this? Steve Willcox

RE: (2) tiny cemeteries in Essex County, Mass.
If you look on my page you'll see the two cemeteries Fuller (at Richardson's Farm) and Averill Family (I names it as it is the surname there, must be another old farm cemetery as are all of them). If you look for Berry Farm Cemetery in Essex Co. on FindAGrave you'll find the third. There are maps of all 3 I believe on the cemetery main pages of each. Please refer to these and let me know if further info from me is needed. It's really no problem.

John

Hi David,

I noticed you wrote a book called "A Guide to Cemeteries in Massachusetts". I am not sure if you are are aware of two tiny cemeteries in my area. If you go to my page on FindAGrave you'll see in my virtual cemeteries: Averill Family Cemetery (No. Andover) and Fuller Cemetery located in a cow pasture at Richardson's Dairy Farm in Middleton. Just giving you a heads up in case you were unaware of them. There is also the Berry Farm cemetery in No. Andover, Essex, MA nearby.

Take care,
John Glassford

Genealogy or graves registry?
Hello David,

I would like to find out about how update memorials in Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton, Massachusetts. You don't post any instructions on how to do this. On the bright side, you also don't quote the 4 generation "Family First" FAQ as an excuse to not transfer memorials, nor do you seem to claim that findagrave is not about genealogy.

Findagrave seems to be about gravestones, and gravestone seem to be about preserving the memories of those who have gone before us. People even pay a lot of money to quarry rocks and further "damage" them by inscribing names and dates on them. We should probably make gravestones out of plastic that we dig up from landfills and have them above ground for a million years for Mother Nature to work on.

Sincerely, Tim Cooper
