RE: Ralph Andrew Lewis
"Ralph Andrew Lewis
The above memorial has a note that he is buried next to Paul Frederick Lewis, so why is there a need to add "next to Ralph Andrew Lewis" to Paul's memorial?"

Sorry, we are new at this. We thought there might be someone looking for Paul and might be unaware of the existence of Ralph, then this would lead them there. Sorry if that was confusing. It was meant to be helpful.

Is this something we should remove?

RE: Charles Gage Photo
You're most welcome Gloria, glad I could help.

I added his wife Grace's record - please be in touch if you would like me to transfer to her record to your care?

Elizabeth Harvey Lester
hi, by coincidence, I happen to have another picture of the gravestone area for Elizabeth Harvey Lester. I'll add the picture to her memorial, and you can rearrange the order of the pictures so my picture is on the second page if you like. The goal of some of my pictures is to show the general area, so it is easier to find the grave based on other graves, roads, trees, etc that are nearby. This section of Brookside cemetery is mostly 1890s and the small numbers in the ground are often very hard to find.

Hi Gloria,

I included a link yesterday for a funeral home and cemetery (Mountain View) in the Pasadena California area with the same name as the one mentioned in the Obit. It has been in existence since the 1880s - so it may be the right one.

Happy hunting & good luck!

In the cemetery records it showed Potter as maiden name and Cales as married last name.

RE: Cales
At one point there must have been markers for those people because the book I got the information from was from a lady who transcribed all the markers in the 1970s. Maybe those markers are buried under a few inches of dirt?? Be interesting to find out.

Thanks for the heads-up. I removed my entry, and sent you an edit for his middle name. I must have missed the duplicate because I had his first name spelled incorrectly. BTW, according to Find A Grave rules, you should not post obituaries unless you were the author of said obituary, or it was published before 1923. Also, listing the names of living relatives is also against their "rules".

You're quite welcome. Glad to help. Also input memorials for her son Albert, and daughter Alice who are named on the stone and son-in-law Bernard who is buried in proximity but weren't in F-A-G? Do you want transfers? Daughter Dorothy does already have a memorial managed by someone else.

Thank you so much for transferring Allie's memorial to me. I will add to it and make the links to her family. Your generosity is much appreciated!

I asked you to add dates of birth and death and link Allie Newton Garrett to her parents. You declined my request. I have her in my family tree and have all that info. She is a cousin and I got the data from her family. Also the date of birth and death is verified by SSDI and Washington Death Index. You are the first that has refused a request! I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't sure of data.

Hi - Yes the stones have an orange cast, some more than others depending on the color of the original stone. It is because of the manganese in the water, so the longer they have been there the more they are coated with the stuff.

I went back and looked at Alice's memorial and the actual stone is a little darker than the picture, but yes it is orange as is her son Joseph Leroy's stone. Bill Doman has edited his picture to take the orange color out. I did use the auto correct trying to make the dates more legible which did lighten it a bit.

I have gone back an added the original untouched photo to the memorial. If you like it better I will delete the first one.

RE: William Lester
You're not the first to have that happen in St John's and the last person was in fact buried there but without record of it - the only reason I know is because he was well-known and more than one source said he was buried there. Some of the oldest graves aren't on the cemetery records but I think they are older than the one you're looking for. So frustrating!

It would help in finding his grave if you contact the cemetery office and find out the section and plot number.

RE: Geraldine F. Hennesey Hawkins
I was not trying to change that. I know she was born there because she is my relative. All I was trying to do was update her date of birth which you did after I sent you the info about her date of birth. I did send you a request to add her parents. I am not sure if you got that or not.

I do thank you for adding her maiden name, also for up dating her birth date and if you could link her to her parents that would be great. If you did not get my request for that let me know and I will send you a new request for it.

I have just posted the photo you requested for Maud Fay. I noticed that her husband Elery has a memorial on Find A Grave so, altho you didn't ask for the photo to be added to him, I went ahead and did post it. If this is a problem, please let me know.

This cemetery record lists Chauncey buried there but not Orissia...

This one has Orissia with the Feb 29 date, but not Chauncey:

Why don't you list him in this cemetery, and do a photo request? I did one for Orissia.
