Hi Tunie,

I just added photos to this memorial and to his wife, Harriet's. James P. Brown's grandson, Robert James Brown, was my uncle, and I ended up with some of his pictures.

Dear Cousin Tunie! So glad to hear that you are on the mend and hopefully feeling better. Your latest letter that you signed with your nickname solved the mystery that I've had on my hands since your package arrived with only the name Donna on it! I sent you a note in the mail before I received your other letter today, so know that I now know who you are and how and when we'd previously corresponded!

I don't recall what you'd said you'd share with me of your research, but I can let you know that much of what you printed out for me included my own research over the past 20 years (based on certain info that I've added that others have not on their trees).

I have the Mathews line back to Charles' father James (1806-77). I don't recall if you have further back than that, but I will look at the papers again when I get home. I have the Price line back to Thomas (ca. 1765-?) and the Walker line end with Mary Polly (1791-1863). Hopefully you have documentation for further back then my brick walls. If not, perhaps what you sent will fill in any gaps I have on your line down to you.

Lastly I wanted to let you know, in case you don't already, that if you can access this website then you can have an email account through any number of free email services, including Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. You don't have to have email through an internet service provider. With these free email providers, you can access your email from any public computer or smartphone in addition to your home internet service if you have it.

Best, Angi

RE: Amelia
Thanks, Tunie! I can't believe Amelia & husband were right there under my nose all these years--where Gparents Thelma & Van and my Dad are too! I guess I didn't think that cemetery was that old. I grew up just half a mile from that cemetery from age 9, and with high school chums, we used it as our "park" in my high school years. No one still living seemed to know Amelia was there either. Hilarious. Thanks again, Barbara

Amanda Barden / McCormick
Tunie,
I just added Geo. McCormick's obit to his memorial. I tried to get the manager to add it after I had typed it up (quite a while ago) but since he elected not to do so, I added it as a jpg. In the obit it states he was buried next to his wife, which solves the mystery of whether she's buried there or not. Since his first wife is buried separately, this has to be Amanda. I will check the grave next to him with my dowsing rods the next time I get over to the Sebeka cemetery. I learned how to use them last year and have been batting 100% on them so far! :)

I was researching this family and noticed on the 1900 census it shows Ella have 2 children living and 8 total. The only child in the household was Iva B. at the time. There are only 7 children listed on here. I'm wondering if there is another grave marker of a child who may have died 1900 or before?

For Pearl M Mathews it has her b.1880 d. 29 oct 1992.

That would make her 112 years old. I'm wondering if this is a typo on the death year?

Cousin Tunie, I just found our Ingwer's family in Germany--1845 census in Slesvig-Holsten (Danish spelling) at the Danish Family Search website (free). Here's a link but it may get deleted. If so, search for Ingwer Matthias Hansen in Trollebull (placename). If you'll send me an email, I'll send you the link that way too. http://www.danishfamilysearch.com/cid6328634

No, not related. I lived close by the cemetery and decided to add to their entries.

Cynthia L. Mathews
Hello, Tunie. Glad that you are doing better. Yes, please transfer Cynthia L. Mathews, # 116002702, to me. I couldn't find her, either, since I had two different names for the cemetery where she and Albert were buried, neither of which was "Jackson Family Cemetery," nor did I think to search for them in Portage County! Thank you! Angi

Hi, I added the photo for Archibald Linton. There are no dates visible due to moss.

I'll look for the Wm. Linton grave at Restland Cemetery in the next week or so.

RE: Headstone photos of Thomas and Catherine Linton.
Hi Tunie, I was glad to do it. It is a very interesting and lovely setting. I photographed every stone that I saw. As best I can tell, this cemetery has multiple names: Old Southwest Cemetery, Southwest Burial Ground, Henry Cemetery and The Smallpox Cemetery. The location is 18939 Brewster Road.

Here is a link showing it as Henry Cemetery:

http://files.usgwarchives.net/oh/geauga/cemeteries/bainbridge/atoz.txt

I put a caption regarding the multiple names on my photo of the Southwest Burial Ground sign. There is no other sign at the cemetery stating the name. There is also no sign or street number on Brewster Road but the link above gave me the street #. There is a narrow drive next to a house at 18941 Brewster Road and I figured that must be it. The graves cannot be seen until you walk back into the property. They are up on a small hilltop that is covered by trees and so it is actually very sheltered for much of the year. There is vinca vine covering the ground and it could be concealing broken stones.

You're very welcome!

Jean
