Arthur Volland

Arthur Volland is not buried in Forest Hill Cemetery in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with other members of his family and first wife. He died in Shiawassee County and is buried in Rose Lawn Cemetery with Evelyn Volland, who I would assume is his second wife.

There are two entries for Arthur. The correct one, which already includes a photo, was created in 2010 (memorial no. 49646804).

I am not sure why a separate memorial was created in 2009 in Forest Hills Cemetery in Ann Arbor. I suppose the contributor assumed that he was buried there with his first wife and other family, but that was not the case.

Hope this helps!

Amburn Photo
Andy, I hope this helps. It's not the best photo as the sun was setting and behind the stone. I'll get a better picture earlier in the day as soon as the weather settles.

Good luck with whatever you're working on.

You are welcome Andy. We have had some warm weather lately and the snow finally melted from over his stone. Bob

RE: Warren Schramm
You are very welcome. It was pure luck actually that I was able to fulfill your request. I went to Normandy on holiday last September, and had photographed this panel for a name just beneath Warren Schramm. As soon as I saw your request I knew I had the photograph. I am just a bit behind with adding them on here.I hope that one day you get to visit as it is a beautiful awesome place.
Kind regards
Carol (Woose)

RE: Lewis Brockett
I'm not happy with how the photo came out. The stone is highly polished and very reflective. I hope to get back there on a cloudy day to see if I can get a better picture. Marcy

RE: Langa, John -mt olivet
Click on his name under your profile ("memorials managed"); I mean, open up his memorial page. Scroll down to "Burial" and under that section you should see "add plot" This is where you will add the plot location at.

No, I know where the cemetery. what I mean, is, please add the burial location to your photo request so the picture can be taken. I do not take pictures if the plot location is not on the photo request.

RE: John McElroy
Notice on John McElroy's stone that the death year is inscribed as 1944, yet the person listing his memorial used the date of 1945, as that is also what his veteran's burial card (which I also posted) gives as death year. If you would like a clarification, I can ask the cemetery office to look it up and check.

John McElroy photos
Although I dug the snow off of John's grave and took 2 photos for your request, I feel bad they are not clear due to the snow - as soon as there is a melting, I will re-take the photos and bring a flag for a pic with the flagholder. It has to get warmer one of these months! For now, hope these will do, but I promise I will re-take them in better conditions.

RE: Leo Quackenbush
Hope you noticed that two other members of his family are buried beside him. Also, on the back of the Quackenbush Family Stone is the name Hersperger. Was that Julia's maiden name? (I think it was Julia, I am not on the page right now.) I also did all the Hersperger's in case you needed them too.
