 | George H. Phillips I am the great great granddaughter of George H. Phillips. I don't know much about this side of the family. It was great to find out that he served in the Revolutionary War, another family member to prove for the DAR. Are you a member of this family, too? I live in Enid, OK and have never been to that side of the USA.

 | William Bailey d. 1864 Lewis Co., VA (WV) Hi Steve,
Thank you for the nice write up on William Bailey! Could you direct me to some sources of evidence for your facts? At this point, I'm stumped. I'm trying to prove the relationships between William and some of his sons that moved to southern Ohio - Meigs County. To name one of the sons: Robert Bailey, b. ca 1785 (some say 1783) d. before 1870 (some say 1868) in Meigs County, Ohio.
I'm also trying to determine how we know that William's father was Carr Bailey of Fauquier County, VA. Any help you can provide will be much appreciated. Thanks.Added by Bruce Bennett on Nov 04, 2012 10:01 PM | |

 | Benjamin Phillips Steve, In Memorial #20696259 (Moses J. Phillips) you state that "Mr. Phillips was the son of Benjamin Phillips (born 1775)." What reference do you have for the 1775 birth year? The 1850 census list Benjamin's age as 66, which would indicate a birth year circa 1784. I understand the inaccuracy of census data (I worked for the Census Bureau), but 10 years seems like a considerable discrepancy, even for census data.

 | Senator Randolph If I am not mistaken Jennings told me that he held was the last remaining Senator to have served under FDR. He was an outstanding man in every sense of the word. His last public speech was at my father's 80th birthday when asked to share a memory, he chose to address the young people and exhort them to register to vote by telling his story about authoring the amendment allowing 18 year olds to vote. Several went the following week and did just that! My two great grandmother was Harriet Fitz Randolph and Jennings is a distant cousin.Added by Nora Yahl on Nov 29, 2011 3:04 PM | |

 | Isaac Cox's Daughter. How can I get in touch with the person that put the article on about Issac? It is not Sarah Sutton Cox that's buried on the Air force base, it's her daughter, Sarah Cox Tingley. I have been there and have a picture of her stone with her maiden name on it. Sarah Sutton Cox is buried in Somerset Co, NJ. I know with so many names the same, it's easy to get mixed up. Just like the 2 Philips Coxes(Isaac's father and grandfather). One wasn't over 100 when he died, they found two stones when they were making a road, for two different Philips. Shirley. P S I think find a Grave is a wonderful idea and I've finally put several on.Added by Shirley I Shawver Nees on Mar 17, 2011 8:57 AM | |
