RE: McGahey
I'm so sorry. You helped me believe it or not, I had someone's request I couldn't find and they were in the same row as your Charles McGahey.
Maybe you'll get lucky too. If you need me to look in any more sites in south jersey, let me know. I'd be glad to look.

Could be related
Lizzie:

I am researching my genealogy, and it appears that we may be related. I too am related to the Locke and Buckingham families. I started my research about a month ago, so what I have is still in it's infancy. I started with Mosher, to Locke, Buckingham, Welty, Pedersen, Boart, Hiesrodt, Snyder, McCuaig, Breseman, and a few others. Please let me know if you would like share info.

Thank you, Chris

Hi Lizzie,
Thanks for letting me know that 1900 was incorrect, that it should have been 1900. I fixed that and looked at his death certificate and added a few other things.
In doing the Locke genealogy have you come across an Amelia Locke who married a John Boston? I am doing a genealogy on the Boston family and just came across that name. They lived in Maine.
Thanks again,
Lorene

RE: Charles & Phoebe Dyer
Lizzie, based on the order of the photos taken I do not believe they were buried beside each other but Phebe's stone was flat on the ground and may have been moved long ago.

Thank you. I don't know why I got that messed up. I have been entering so many that I probably got the first name from the previous submission. Big dunce. I have corrected it.

Burt & Annie Dyer
I, too am a 12th generation Pilgrim descendant, was wondering if you have any info on Burt & Annie Dyer. They lived on Dyer Ave, Whitman Ma and when I knew them was between 1946 to 1953 and they would've been in their 70's then, guessing they were born between 1870 to 1885. They were real characters. I think Annie was a Hatch (maiden name). Just curious and love the work/pictures you have taken.

RE: Russell Locke Photo Request
Hi Lizzie,

I checked the Bly Cemetery transcription that is at the Three Rivers Public Library today for other Lockes. The only Locke listed in plot 1018 is Russell Leslie. The rest of the Lockes in Bly Cemetery are already listed on Find A Grave and they are in totally different plots.

The cemetery transcription I consulted was put together from several sources including a walk through the cemetery recording markers. The original records were lost in a fire but I believe that effected only records before 1920.

Hope this information is somewhat helpful.

RE: Russell Locke Photo Request
Hi Lizzie,

The family members may be in the plot but without markers. Next time I go to the Three Rivers Public Library, I will check the transcription of Bly Cemetery that they have there and see if there are any Lockes listed.

Russell Locke Photo Request
Hi Lizzie,

I took a photo today and will post it shortly. The marker only says "Russell Leslie 1950" on it. It rests in the middle of plots empty of markers all around it. There was no Locke family monument in that section.

Have a great weekend!

William and Ann Buckingham Locke
William and Ann Buckingham Locke are my 2nd Great Grandparents. I have been doing genealogy for some time. I believe that William Buckingham Locke was one of their children. I am trying to find out what happened to James Peter Locke, born in 1844 or 1843, between the time he sailed from Liverpool (age 13) on the 'William Stetson' with a female relative named Margaret Locke (age 25)and arrived in New York July 31, 1857. They went somewhere before James took off on a Wagon Train from Janesville/Beloit, WI, for California. I have been told he was staying with a brother of Ann Buckingham but I have no information. Do you have any information that might help me?

RE: Samuel Dyer
Hi Lizzie, I'm actually heading back to the cemetery in Truro this afternoon to do some other lookups. I see there's a couple Samuel Dyers in the cemetery index, so I'll take photos of those... the one I took a photo of was married to Mary (Brown). This Samuel is stone #158, there's another Samuel-- stone #159. Will update later tonight...

William Chipman
Hi Lizzie:

William Chipman's grave in Easton Cemetery is quite a production. In addition to the mausoleum with room for 8 (four? filled), there is to the south a bench with "Chipman" on an arch over the bench and graves for a number of family members. It's difficult to photograph the contents of the mausoleum, but if you've an interest in others, let me know.

Interesting person; it appears that his estate in Easton became the Northhampton Country Club, a local private golf course. Chipman road runs through the course.

Best Regards,
Steve Orso

RE: Melvin, Blanch & Mary Locke
Hi Lizzie,

Glad to help out. The one I could not get was Leroy D. Locke. According the Centre County Genealogical Society book (last updated in 2005), only this record appears:
"Rob Gannon's additional burial records that show these people to be buried in Union Cemetery but have no definite location within it noted."

I do see these entries listed in the College Township book (also Centre County):

Locke, Leroy D., Jr.
Locke, LeRoy Dyer, M,D.,

I will make note of this, and check that Township book next time I get to the library. I suspect his listing in Union Cemetery is incorrect, but a photo would confirm that. I'll let you know.

And please come visit Historic Victorian Bellefonte any time!! (www.bellefonte.com)

Mr. Francis McArdle
Margaret McGahey
Hi Lizzie,
It appears that the headstone for McGahey does not include Margaret it only shows her husbands name. I have a "lot inquiry list" which shows she is buried in that plot. If you would like a copy I can email it to you. Since it appears we can't add attachments you would have to email me your email address. My email address appears on my profile page.
Or I could attach it to Margarets' page as a photo.
If you don't want the Lot List let me know. I will be going back to Holy Cross Cemetery and I will take a closer look at her grave. The cemetery was swampy today, when it dries I may be able to find a small marker flat on the ground.
