Rocky Mount Cemetery
Ms. Wanda....1st Thank you for your service in the military. But Rocky Mount Cemetery in NOT in Autauga County, Alabama. It is firmly in Elmore County. Just about every single person in that cemetery is related to my husband. I questioned it location and was flatly told it was in Elmore County. Please don't think I am argueing....lol Just want to FYI...Have a blessed day.

RE: Mt Zion in Pike County
I have been in touch with Kenneth and Susanne Johnston who are members at this church. The church is located in Coffee County. There is a BIG question in this area because the church is relatively close to the borders of Dale, Pike AND Coffee Counties; however, the church deed apparently shows Coffee County as does the Wilson land that joins the church property on the south side.

I hope you have a good vacation, but stay cool.

Meredith
Sandfield Cemetery at Zebulon Baptist Church has numerous Meredith graves. If you go in the gate on the left side of the church you will find most of the Meredith graves in this area. Some newer graves are behind the church. It is possible that some Meredith family members may have been buried at the Old Canaan Primitive Baptist Church near Ebenezer, but this cemetery met the fate of an ill advised machine operator and only a few graves survived; however, there were several Meredith members of the church according to the church records. A few Meredith family members still live near Banks (Pike) and quite a few live in the Halls Cross Roads and Stills Cross Roads areas of Bullock County. There is a Meredith Cemetery in Bullock County. I have corresponded with a lady in Denver who is researching the Meredith family. Feel free to contact me.

RE: Thanks
I am mostly interested in Sandfield Cemetery. The Golden, Meredith and Culverhouse families. I think it is wonderful that you use your time and effort to take these photos and share them. I know of 3 cemeteries in Pike County and one just outside in Bullock County that are on the verge of being lost forever. They are the Cotton-Johnson Cemetery, the "Old Hanging Tree Cemetery" (I think that's the name), Old Caanon and in Bullock County, the Meredith Cemetery. Do you know of these locations?

Thanks again,
Kathy
