RE: Profile photo
Hi, Sue! Glad to hear from you and hope that you're doing fine. Thank you for your kind words. I haven't been out in the cemeteries in some time now, have been in the hospital and now looking at a couple of surgeries in the near future. It's heck to get old, I miss getting out in the cemeteries. Hope that you're staying cool, seems the heat is on again!
A special thanks to you for all you do on FindaGrave.

RE: Larry C.
I took it might have taken them from a newspaper thru a online search. I have stopped doing that becasue I thought that family might have thought it was disrespectful. I'm so sorry and will never do it again. Tell you friend that I'm deeply sorry.

Thanks for writing, Sue. Hope all's well. If I were you, I would get in touch with the Abbey's archivist monk. I am sure he would be glad to assist and send in the lacking pictures. It would be great of course to have each memorial carrying a photo of the respective monk apart from that of his grave. Good luck!

I suspect it was from the cemetery roster published in the 80's. My copy is in storage now due to a basement backup issue.

Re: Memorial# 75239219 Eugene O'Keefe
I have moved him to Mount Calvary and requested a photo. Hopefully that will clear up the discrepancy. With the death in 1887 though, most times the records aren't available for those times, or destroyed and headstones have disintegrated. Thanks for the followup.

Dear Sue,
You are so welcome, its always a pleasure to visit other ones love ones as much as I can.
I thank you for visiting mine also and all the kind messages that you leave on my page. My name is Tracy. I just have not been feeling well so I have not been on here to much. I am fine though, I have some health problems that can keep off line at times. If you do not see my on here for awhile, I am just probably resting. I thank everyone one for their concern and prayers. I wish the best for all of you.

Oh, no, I didn't did I? lol No, I am not. Would be more than happy to transfer it to you, if you wish!

PS I have lots of kin in the Texas County area and there were relatively few memorials when I started creating some for the cemeteries there!

Hi Sue,

I believe this is where the info came from that I posted on his memorial:

As far as the MI in concerned, I'm afraid I don't have the answer to that one!

Hope this helps,

Photos of gravestones
Thank you so much for getting the pictures of Sister Humiliata and Sister Fidelis gravestones. They were my Grandfather's sisters and I thought a great deal of them, Sister Fidelis especially. She was a very determined person but I enjoyed her sense of humor most.

Thank-you, will do so. No, am not related, just a genealogy hound, who doesn't want anyone to be forgotten on Find-A-Grave. Appreciate the offer to photo very much, enjoy working with other contributors dedicated to the memory of all of those who have passed.

Thank you for your kind offer! I have added photo requests for the monks I have added to St. Benedict's: Fathers Caples, Gellhaus, Merwick, Otott, Smith, Staudinger, Schwinn and Woydziak. If you can find any of them, that would be great! I'll see if I can find more photos of the monks.

RE: Hi Ellen
Before you join a pay for obits deal, contact the library in the town you believe they died in, see if they have microfilm, see if they have a person who will look for an obit if you now the date.

RE: Thinking of you
WEll,mostly local obituaries but I sometimes google and do various things to try and locate other obits when they are in my newspaper but died somewherelse and the obit in the paper is incomplete I try to find the mortuary of origin to see if there is a better obit and that can lead me to newspapers too. email and tell me what I might do for you

RE: Richard Balvin
Sue. I took some photos at that cemetery once while passing thru, but I live many miles away so cannot help. That actually is a large, sprawling cemetery with little organization. I don't know how a person could find the grave (especially if it may not be marked) without walking the entire thing. Hopefully someone in the area can fill your request.
