You are welcome. I am trying to find information as to who CARSON was and what her correct line is. There are several trees that have just taken what is there without following through so now there is a problem with correct lineage is has just mushroomed into incorrect parents.

John Yancey's wives listed on his memorial
I have been researching his family and found an Indiana Death Certificate for Elizabeth Hunt, his wife, everything matches and it listed her father as Benjamin PATTERSON not Carson so was wondering where you obtained the information with her maiden name as CARSON and not Patterson. Thank you for any help to determine what her correct maiden name is.

Elizabeth Snell Collins, Louisa Mariah Collins
Hi Marilyn, I'm working on some Snell family records. FindAGrave has Elizabeth Snell Collins's death date as 12 May 1830, and I have her last child Louisa's birthdate as 22 May 1830. Elizabeth may well have died in childbirth. Do you have more details of these dates? Thanks so much! Jane Snell Copes

Nutter
I noticed that you left flowers on William Lloyd Nutter's memorial and that you have Nutter in your name. Are you related. William' Lloyd's father was William Lester Nutter, brother to my grandmother. If so would like to correspond.

Jacob Collins 1773-1837
Hi - I am researching Jacob Collins, who settled his brother George's estate in Warren County, OH between 1822 and 1827 (lots of debts, lots of work). It appears there was a second George Collins who died with a will in 1830. They lived in different pieces of land (listed in the Warren County taxes in the late 1820s). So it seems there was more than one George, and perhaps more than one Jacob.

I am curious about what statements are made in the 1880s journal/diary you mentioned at Jacob's memorial site. Jacob died in 1837 with a will, naming his children, so it's clear that he did have two wives, and Amos was by the 2nd wife Clarinda and apparently got cut out of the money.

But Jacob's daughter Hannah had married Edmund Collins, from New Hampshire. I wonder if he might have been her cousin. I'm confused about when exactly Jacob was in Virginia. The Jacob I'm working on (Hannah's father) cannot have been anyplace but Ohio between 1822 and 1827, because he was settling his brother's estate.

Rev. John Collins seems to be the father of the George who died in 1830 with a will. But I think he cannot be the father of Hannah's dad, Jacob, because that guy had a brother named George who died intestate five years or so earlier than 1830. (I'm not clear when Jacob's sickly brother George died - I think Jacob was handling his brother's affairs long before his death because he was so ill).

Hannah's husband Edmund Collins (perhaps her own cousin) was the son of Benjamin Collins Jr. (1771-1818) from NH. I am eager to know definite proof that the Jacob who was Hannah's father actually came from New Jersey. If he didn't, I'm guessing he came from New Hampshire, although I have not worked out who his father could be (IO'm working on that).

So, if it wouldn't be too much trouble, I would be very grateful if you could transcribe the journal, or check the information there so it's clear nobody is making any assumptions about a person named Jacob Collins. Thank you so much for your help - I know I'm asking a lot. Thanks.

RE: Elizabeth (Boyle) Oliver-Page
Elizabeth is my husband's great grandmother in his mother's line. I am working on updating findagrave info on all of this line and would love to have you transfer management to me as it would make it easier to make changes when it is necessary.

I am curious about your connection - are you related or is this a genealogy/history interest on your part?

My daughter got me started with findagrave when she was living in France for a year - she wasn't allowed to work while there so she looked up info for findagrave requesters and while in a Paris cemetery one day she met a man who was able to introduce her husband to the widow of the very man he was doing research on - serendipity in the cemetery!
