Thinking of you
Laura,

You come to my mind one in awhile and I wonder how you are doing. A few years back I used to be here a lot and would see the notes you left for your beloved sister, Lisa. I don't come around this way very much at all now, but your messages touched me back then and I have always wished you well. Life seemed so difficult for you then and I hope in the last three years it has improved and that all your struggles are easier to bear. So know that once in awhile someone thinks of you and wishes you well.

Sincerely, Barbara

Laura, I have been reading the messages you have left on my sister-in-laws memorial and I have to say a huge thankyou. It has been so heart-warming it has brought me to tears. You have a massive heart bulging with love and I can only hope that Wendy and Lisa have met up as some of Lisa's favourite music was Wendy's as well. Love to you!

Thanks...
Hannah's a beauty! Thank-you for the kind comments, and you're quite welcome for the offering I left. We have some things in common. I had to quit my career finally, in 2002. Maybe we should talk once in a while. After all, misery loves company... haha - just kidding

Diabetes?
Hi Laura,
Thinking of you today on your twin sisters birthday.
I think that you have recently been diagnosed with diabetes? I found out 15 months ago that I have type 2. So far I have it under control with diet, tablets & exercise. But I can understand how you must be feeling, especially if it means injections every day. (I am so grateful that I do not have to do that, as of yet)
Keep smiling & I think its wonderful that you have a new tatoo every year, to remember your sister.
Best wishes,
Kris, UK.

Belated 4 Laura
SO PRECIOUS AND WONDERFUL A WOMAN
PRICELESS JEWEL AND AWESOME LADY
WHO DEMONSTRATES ENDLESS COMMITMENT
TO BEING ALL SHE CAN BE
UNDERRATED, NOT APPRECIATED ENOUGH
ALWAYS SPIRIT FILLED AND PRAYING
COOKING, CLEANING, WORKING, AND SPREADING LOVE
SO MANY DUTIES AND DIVIDED TIME CONSTANTLY
SHE IS IN A THANKLESS JOB AND UNDERPAID FOR IT
BUT ON THIS DAY AND EVERYDAY I SHALL GIVE YOU
THE GLORY, THE APPRECIATION, THE HONOR
THE RESPECT, THE ADMIRATION THAT YOU RIGHTFULLY DESERVE
I GIVE YOU A STANDING OVATION TODAY.
NOW AND FOREVER
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO YOU.

Happy New Zappa Year, Laura

New Year's Reflections

Looking back on the months gone by,
As a new year starts and an old one ends,
We contemplate what brought us joy,
And we think of our loved ones and our friends.

Recalling all the happy times,
Remembering how they enriched our lives,
We reflect upon who really counts,
As the fresh and bright new year arrives.

And when I ponder those who do,
I immediately think of you.

Thanks for being one of the reasons I'll have a Happier New Year!

I'm happy for your friendship and compassion
That is the best Christmas present I know
To know that someone cares for you many miles Away and that can bring a smile to you as if you are right next to them.
Something that doesn't cost a thing yet is precious and priceless to me. We know what it is like for joy and pain, laughter and tears
And all the while we know love, happiness, and hope. We have a binding tie that I appreciate.
May you be blessed in the coming year and may you continue to bless me with your kindness and love.

GenealogyGirl
Genealogist's Christmas Eve
'Twas the night before Christmas
When all through the house
Not a creature was stirring,
Not even my spouse.

The dining room table with clutter was spread
With pedigree charts and with letters which said...
"Too bad about the data for which you wrote;
Sank in a storm on an ill-fated boat."

Stacks of old copies of wills and such
Were proof that my work had become too much.
Our children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugarplums danced in their heads.

And I at my table was ready to drop
From work on my album with photos to crop.
Christmas was here, and such was my lot
That presents and goodies and toys I'd forgot.

Had I not been busy with grandparents' wills,
I'd not have forgotten to shop for such thrills,
While others bought gifts to bring Christmas cheers,
I'd spent time researching those birth dates and years.

While I was thus musing about my sad plight,
A strange noise on the lawn gave me such a great fright.
Away to the window I flew in a flash,
Tore open the drapes and yanked up the sash.

When what with my wondering eyes should appear,
But an overstuffed sleigh and eight small reindeer.
Up to the house top the reindeer they flew,
With a sleigh full of toys and 'ole Santa Claus, too.

And then in a twinkle, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of thirty-two hoofs.
As I drew in my head, and bumped it on the sash,
Down the cold chimney fell Santa--KER-RASH!

"Dear" Santa had come from the roof in a wreck,
And tracked soot on the carpet, (I could wring his short neck!)
Spotting my face, good 'ole Santa could see
I had no Christmas spirit you'd have to agree.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work
And filled all the stockings, (I felt like a jerk).
Here was Santa, who'd brought us such gladness and joy:
When I'd been too busy for even one toy.

He spied my research on the table all spread
"A genealogist!" He cried! (My face was all red!)
"Tonight I've met many like you," Santa grinned,
As he pulled from his sack a large book he had penned.

I gazed with amusement--the cover it read
Genealogy Lines for Which You Have Plead.
"I know what it's like as a genealogy bug."
He said as he gave me a great Santa hug.

"While the elves make the sleighful of toys I now carry,
I do some research in the North Pole Library!
A special treat I am thus able to bring,
To genealogy folk who can't find a thing."

"Now off you go to your bed for a rest,
I'll clean up the house from this genealogy mess."
As I climbed up the stairs full of gladness and glee,
I looked back at Santa who'd brought much to me.

While settling in bed, I heard Santa's clear whistle,
To his team, which then rose like the down of a thistle.
And I heard him exclaim as he flew out of sight,
"Family history is Fun! Merry Christmas! Goodnight!"

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Hello Laura,
Wising you a very merry Christmas and blessed New Year. God bless you and family always. Sending love and hugs from San Antonio Texas :) Thank you for all the tokens you leave for my family it is greatly appreciated. And thank you for your encouraging words about Ronnie. Grief, is a never ending journey. It took me along time to let go of the anger, it ate me up inside. And I Know that is not what Ronnie would have wanted. The intense angry (no all). I let it go. However, I'm not at the forgiveness stage. I'm just now learning to remember the good-times my brother and I shared, the happiness and joy. At this point to don't see the forgiveness stage ever. I don't have the hate I once had for his murders, so for me that is good enough. Forgiveness...never.
