RE: Charles Rehs
How wonderful to have this military info! I have tried to discover my ancestries military back grounds but haven't found many... Thank you so much for adding to our family history. I come from a long line of veterans.

Sincerely Yours,
Donna (Hobden) Rehs

Transfer happily made. I also heard how someone broke the soldiers and sailors monument in Cleveland. That is horrible, I don't know why people have to destroy things to honor our vets.

James H Crawford
In researching James Crawford, I discovered that he did not come to this country until Jul 1852 from Kilmarnock, Scotland. He arrived with his family: wife, Janet, and children, Andrew (who is buried at St Joseph's Cemetery), Janet, and Hugh. They arrived on the ship "Wacousia" on 17 Jul 1852 at New York City and the family is listed together on the ship's manifest (documention available on ancestry, New York Passengers Lists).

The only reason I mention this is that I wonder how he would have been in the Mexican-American War if he did not arrive in the US until several years after it was over.
