Thank you for your years with find-a-grave! Sorry to hear of your stroke. I too was a nurse since 1958. I find "find-a-grave" offers so much to genealogy. I left a note to correct the name of William Clingman Crawford. Blessing!

RE: Barbara (Niehuis) Vanderzicht Beeksma
Thank you, that clears it up. It was confusing because she is buried next to her first husband, under the name Vanderzicht but listed as Beeksma on the records. Her second husband appears to be buried next to his first wife in another section of the cemetery.

We appreciate the help,
Kelly

Beeksma & Vanderzicth
We are wondering if you might have some insight on a discrepancy we found.

The burial listing for Maple Leaf Cemetery says that "Beeksma, Barbara Beeksma" is buried in Section 5, Block 138, Lot 55. The headstone at that location is for Allen and Barbara Vanderzicht. Barbara Vanderzicht's memorial page says that her maiden name was Nienhuis. She does have a sister linked to her, Elizabeth Nienhuis, who married Egbert Beeksma.

Allen passed away in 1979. Do you know if Barbara remarried after his passing?

Thank-you,
Kelly

Inez C. Baird Find A Grave Memorial# 32040513
Hi Woodenshoes,

I have made some edits to the above. Inez is my maternal grand aunt. My sources for edits:

1. DOB, & POB - Minnesota Historical Society, Birth Certificate Index.

2. Parents - MHS Birth Certificate Index, 1920 & 1930 US Census.

3. Spouse - Minnesota Official Marriage System.

4. Name - Minnesota Historical Society, Birth Certificate Index, Minnesota Official Marriage System.

Inex & Lester relocated from MN to WA about 1941.

I have attached 2 photos of Inez. 1st is Inez and her sister (my grandmother) Ruby. 2nd is a closeup of Inez from that photo.

Thanks,
Rich King (#48494887)

Hello,
I sent an edit through the auto link. I had sent one in Feb of 2014, but it may have fallen through the cracks, so I resent it. If there is a reason why you prefer Truitt not to be linked to his parents, could you send me a message to let me know the details?

Thanks so much,
Rita

Gilford Hervey
I finally found the reason why he was admitted to Sedro Woolley - senile dementia on August 20, 1920. The Archives in Bellingham does not have the patient records but has an extract of information. DSHS has those records.

I have the marriage date of Elias Brees and Deborah Bennett as 27 Oct 1805 in New York state - maybe Warwick, Orange County; Tioga County, New York which later became Chemung County, New York. I'm look for a record of their marriage. Do you happen to know where I might find one? Elias Brees 1775-1863. Deborah Bennett Brees 1789-1838.

Jacqueline Haddon Bohn
Hi, I just noticed that you have a grave for Jacqueline Haddon Bohn born May 26, 1933 in Anacortes, WA. She is my cousin and she is still living. I don't know why there would be a memorial plaque for her unless it was in preparation for her death. Anyway, she is alive and well. For confirmation of my info, you can find her on Facebook under her name. She is 82 but uses the computer frequently.

I got Hervey's death certificate today. He died primarily of Senile Dementia with failure of all organs of life as contributing to his death.

RE: Gilford Hervey
I'm glad your computer/printer is working.

I finally spent some time going thru a box of pension records that I have and took another look at Gilford's record.

His son Carey sent letters to D.C. federal agencies because he was looking for the last check of his father. No one seemed to know where it was. The $161.00 check was returned to the government because someone wrote across the check "Deceased" and the date.

There was also a note from post office station that said Gilford was the only person picking up his mail and that the last time he was there was September 3, 1920. So, Gilford died at Sedro Woolley on September 8 which makes his stay very brief 4 days or less. Which makes me think his death may have been because of heart condition. There did not seem to be anything in his file to confirm a heart condition.

I ordered his death certificate from Olympia. I'll let you know.

RE: Gilford Hervey
I don't know what his cause of death was - I did not order a death certificate. I assume because of his age, he might have been suffering from dementia and/or PTSD. He was living in West Seattle. He was a member of GAR and someone in the organization could have recommended treatment at NSH. His son Carey did not know he was there or that he died for at least a month after his death and burial.

One correction on Thomas, his brother. He died October 1884 in Arkansas. His wife Malinda (Linda) waited a number of years to apply for his pension and she never did complete the process to get it. I can only assume she died before finishing.

I did some researching on Gideon T. Hervey. He and his family and slaves were in Mississippi by 1848. He purchased 480 acres of land in Water Valley, MS. Gilford would have been a child when he arrived. Gideon died in 1881. According to Gilford, Gideon visited him while he was living in Cairo, IL in 1870.

You have some conflicting information regarding his burial. He is buried at GAR not Sedro Wholly.
