Richard's Family Headstone
Dear Iain

Thank you for taking the time to work on these gravestones. I have just submitted an edit to one that is very difficult to read. However, the eldest daughter of F C Richards was Rose Millicent Irene Richards who married Alfred Edward Collier. Rose died in 1931 aged 48 years.

With kindest regards, Carol

St John the Evangelist Hildenborough Church
Iain could please place this on the above site.

St John the Evangelist Hildenborough Church now has the full burial records available on Find a Grave up to the date of 2015. These records have been taken from the church burial lists and gravestones, gaining permission from Tim Saiet the local vicar and the Diocese of Rochester. The records which are available hold 4200 citizen of Hildenborough.
The intention is to make these records available at the public library in Hildenborough on opening days in Riding Lane, near to the church. The book has the plans of the plots of the church burial areas and information about interesting persons buried within the churchyard. Such as the Tibet Princess, Baroness and the first vicar of Hildenborough.

Regards Tim Asquith.

It has taken me 10 months to complete this little project.

We are very grateful for your kind thoughtfulness during this month of May, the "Month of Mary." ~ Paul

Hi Iain

I wondered if it would be OK with you if I used your images of the grave on my (non-commercial) family history blog to write about Christina and her husband?

Thank you for taking the photo of my great grandfathers head stone. I remember visiting his grave when I was 6 years old with my mother father sister nan and grampa (Ellis son) I'm now 31 and it still looks like exactly how I remember it. I hope to return back there sometime this year to pay my respects once again. I have so many photos of the cemetery that i would be happy to upload. Kind regards Lucy

RE: Anthony Handkinson
Here is what I could find at the moment;

Anthony Handkinson is listed on the CWGC website, but under "Greece", not Phaleron War Cemetery (I have no idea why). The only personal information listed states that he was the son of Richard Handkinson.

"Tony" and a New Zealand soldier named John "Jack" Stuart (memorial #56553524) where taken prisoner in Greece on 28 July 1942. Both of them where executed at Averoff Prison in Athens on 7 February 1943.

The latter information is listed on the Special Forces Roll of Honour website.

How thrilling to see you again!
My oh do sound as if you were in an area where you were cold cold cold!

Do you ever get down to Wedmore or Worcester area? Toddington Manor over in Gloucestershire is where my Viscount Robert Tracey was as well...have seen that spelling as Tracy/Tracey.

Always lovely seeing you here!

Cheery Hello Sent your way!
I was entering a few burials over in Sussex when I saw your name appear under some of the photos for the cemetery. How have you been!

You were the lovely fellow who took the photos for my Barrow relatives!

It appears you are still working quite hard!

So good seeing you here!

RE: Brecon Cemetery
Thanks for the scenic general photos of the cemetery. Have you considered adding one or more as a cemetery photo? Haven't checked to see if you have already done this.
I visited Brecon many years ago and this is the reason for adding the CWGC memorials.
Joseph Groom and David Thomas:
Please add your photos for Groom. Thanks!
I will add notes to these memorials saying that headstones were not located & to contact me if any are found. I will check the CWGC records to see if they had private headstones.
Thank you very much for your work!

perhaps they are not as quick at updating as some other folks.
here's a "sneak preview"

During an afternoon dual training flight the aircraft was written off when it hit a tree on a practice approach. An engine stalled and the aircraft crashed. Pilot Sgt R C Vernon was killed

Philip Townsend
Edward Bird
Hello Iain,

I am not sure if you can help me, but there is a record (47997744) for the above in F-A-G with a death date of July 18, 1914 and it mentions in the notes that he had a wife, Elizabeth. The record was created by a member who is no longer active on F-A-G and there is no photo of the gravestone. In my family tree, I have a husband of a great grandaunt (Elizabeth Dyer) who was married to an Edward Bird. In my family tree, I have Edward Bird as having died in Ditchingham, Norfolk on July 13, 1914. I am wondering if this is my Edward Bird in that the death date was recorded incorrectly in F-A-G. Is there any way that you check on this. Thanks much!

Philip Townsend
