I've had you and your travels on my mind recently. In reading over your last message, you mentioned requesting "famous" memorials to parents. I also had thought of sending some of those requests. Turns out, Findagrave has a POLICY against linking "famous" unless their parents/sibs are also famous. I guess they call themselves protecting privacy/preventing stalking activity. Whatever. If most or all have left this mortal coil, I don't see the point. Irritating. I just start in another direction.

Did I see your name on Wikipedia? I mean as an editor. I have little doubt you are mentioned as a musician. I was looking at some contributor pages, and wondered if I might be seeing your handiwork. The internet is so vast, and yet, stranger things have happened. We [human beings] most of us travel in certain circles, and somehow seem to contact the same people in different contexts. Or not.

Thanks very much for these listings and the gravestone picture. I've now linked them to one of their daughters, Sarah.

Pvt. Leroy McKinley

In searching on Ancestry for more info on my uncle Leroy McKinley I found your site here. Could you give me more info if known. He was killed in Metz Germany during the war. Did they ship body there to be buried? Is there a pic of grave? As far as I know, there was a body shipped home later in a few years and he was buried.

Harry Dardio
Hello from Harry Dardio

Hello my name is Harry Dardio. I just read the find a grave you wrote about J. Bruce Ismay. You are wrong on one thing. J. Bruce Ismay didn't own the Titanic, J.P. Morgan owned the Titanic. J.P.Morgan paid $7.5 million dollars to have the Titanic built so he owned the Titanic. Please correct your find a grave on J. Bruce Ismay and state the correct statement that J.P. Morgan owned the Titanic.

Corporal Stuart Cameron Pennyfuir Cemetry, Oban

John Cameron, Stuart's father was my grandmother's cousin.
My father used to talk about the farm, Gallanachbeg south of Oban that his relations farmed.
Gallanachbeg is the correct spelling of "Callanachose" which you showed as the inscription on the headstone.

Thanks for the photograph. It adds to my families history.

RE: Royal Army Service Corps
Hi Ian,

You are totally correct Cav is the abbreviation for Cavalry. The ASC/RASC had HT Horse Transport, MT Mechanical Transport, SAA Small Arms Ammunition as well as Cavalry Supply. I think the M2 in his Regimental Number suggest he was a late joiner to the ASC and might of been part of motor/mechanical transport for No. 1 Cav. Div. Supply Col?

Agnes Calpin Brown
Hi Iain thank you for photographing this memorial to my cousins x3 removed. I thought you may like to know William Harwood Brown's mother Mary Duck (nee Scoffins) is also in this grave which I have confirmed with Scarborough Cemetery. She also is the owner and had it erected when her son was drowned at sea. I also have a photo of William Harwood Brown's grave in St James, Dover if you would like to add it too. My email is if you want any more info.
