RE: Laurel Land Memorial Park
a photo showing the entire marker; the marker is cut off in the photo on both ends. We get a lot of requests for re-shoots when the markers are not fully in the photo. Just wanted to let you know.

RE: Clifford's memorial
If you won't transfer his memorial to me please add his obit and the links to his wife and parents. I may have a picture some where. I met him at a David reunion once and we planned to get together since he lived in Paris and I live in Garland. His name was changed from Bolgiano to Marshall because of anti-Italian sentiment during WWII.

Obit: MARSHALL, CLIFFORD B. 90, of Paris died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, in University Medical Center in Lubbock, after a brief illness Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2004, in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Miller officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas under the direction of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 4, at the funeral home. He was born Jan. 1, 1914, just outside San Antonio, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan D. Bolgiano. Clifford Marshall typified the American success story. He began his life long career in the media world working as an office boy for the Dallas Morning News. He soon met and married Margaret Salter, the eventual mother of his two sons, in Dallas in the 1930s. Working his way through the ranks of the media World he eventually moved to United press International where he spent years as a reporter, even at one time assigned to reporting an Elliot Ness. He treasured his press card signed by the famous crime fighter when he was Director of Public Safety in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Marshall spent several years typing away hours a day on the transmitting end of the United Press newswire service. He was "frozen" in this capacity during World War II because the United States government considered his part in disseminating the news essential to national Security. It was just a few weeks after the bombing of Pearl Harbor that his wife, Margaret, gave birth to their first son, Robert. After the war he moved into the sales end of United Press and traveled the highways and railroads selling its news service, comic strips and syndicated columns to newspapers, radio and television stations. After achieving the level of Vice president at United Press in 1951, he left the firm to help co-found Blackburn & Company which eventually became Americas premier brokerage firm for radio and television stations. In that same year he saw the birth of his second son, John. While at Blackburn he also purchased KPLT radio in Paris in 1959 and then WFIG and WWDM in Sumter, S.C. in 1969, and 1972. His crowning achievement in his career as radio station entrepreneur was the founding of WWDM's Urban radio format in 1973. WWDM went on to become one of the most successful and respected Urban radio stations in the United States. Mr. Marshall "retired" from the radio business in the 1980's but lived out his later years living his lifelong dream of being a Texas rancher. Residents at the Paris and southern Lamar county area enjoyed the wonder and beauty of his cattle ranch and pecan orchard an the Old Dallas Highway for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Elizabeth Salter Marshall. Survivors include his wife of nearly 20 years, Mary Strong Marshall; his two sons, Robert A. and John D. Marshall; granddaughter, Angela Pagenstecher; and his grandson, Clifford S. Marshall. Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Paris, Texas (903) 784-4333
Published in the Dallas Morning News on 6/4/2004.

The Only William Brooks You Have Added
Well I apologize for sending wrong memorial #on my second request. That is why I always use the sac link to request changes, but you didn't respond to sac so that is why I added a message to your page.
You only have one memorial for William Brooks, and that is in the Waxahachie City Cemetery. I will follow up & send another sac so there is no doubt you get the correct memorial updated.
Memorial #63789656.

William Brooks #63789565
I had requested back in September 2012, that you correct the date of death for this memorial. My request was made through SAC, but it was never changed. I wrote to Findagrave, but they only added the burial information & did not change the date. The month of death on marker reads March, actually it reads Mar.
Could you please change this information on the memorial?
Thanks in advance for your attention to this correction.

RE: help

The Stadden-McKee Cemetery is on private property at 335 Geller Road, southeast of Wilmer near Patrick and Gravel Slough if you have been around long enough to know where they used to be.

Looking west from Geller Road you can see a large dense tangle of vines, trees and bushes surrounded by old vehicles and farm equipment.

Anyone sensitive to poison ivy would be well advised to stay far away. My family has been able to gain limited access on an occasional basis to take care of our ancestors grave sites. As far as I am aware it has been years since any of the Stadden family has been there to take care of theirs.

RE: sorry
I never said you were wrong. I'm just having a hard time understanding why so many contributors "Do Not Transfer". Is it a NUMBERS issue? 6 months or 11 years, A contributor is a contributor.
I am related. Thats OK, I dont want a transfer if it's going to cause issues...! Now I understand why there are so many duplications at Find A Grave.
Thank you for your time. Mary

RE: sorry
I don't understand why a contributor not related to a person they enter for a memorial would not transfer them to a relative. I thought that is what Find A Gravce was all about.
I also understand that you worked hard on the memorials (I have made many memorials) but isnt that what it's all about? To help others find and maintain their family and ancestors? Sorry, I'm just confused as to why more contributors dont and wont transfer to family.
Thank you for your time. Grave_Walker.

I am totally intrigued. Did Winifred (my husbands great grandmother)end up being buried in Dallas and simply had her name on the Stone in the grave in Illinois? If this could possible be transferred I would appreciate it.
