RE: Creeks
It look like a pole gate across the turnoff to Shelby creek, like a utility type and I think there are utility lines that go across. Anyway I will be checking it out tomorrow.

RE: Jordans
I am really confused, I am going to Ripley tomorrow and I will stop by Curtis creek...I could swear that they were buried in same cemetery as their MaMa Graves. You know I originally made their memorial as Shelby Creek. Well, I can clear that up with my visit tomorrow. Does the road to Shelby Creek still have a gate, I want to go back there but not by myself. Thanks for your quick response. E

RE: Memorial ?
Sorry about that...Thomas E Graves.(1874-1876) I am confused as to what happened to the site I created, I have the pic I took in my Genealogy Book and I posted the site when I did all of the Family in 2002. So I was curious how your entry supercede mine and why Brad Campbell pic of the stone is there and not my pic.

I have come across this before to have my memorial disappear and it particularly makes me sad because of the work I did and because it is my Family but I don't want you to change it as it is there but I may re-post my pic that I took in 2002 to his memorial. Thanks, E

Shelby Creek
Out of curiosity, I am wondering why your memorial replaced mine that I did in 2002, I transcribed all of my Graves relatives and only saw yours as I was adding some new documents...Would you add his transcription Suffer little children to
Come unto me and
forbid them not. Thanks Evelyn

Fannie Harwood

I found the following in an old newspaper at the Library of Congress website:

At the residence of Dr. John S. Cain, in the city of Okolona, on Tuesday evening last, at 6 o clock
after a long and painful illness, Miss Fannie Harwood, in the 13th year of her age. Miss Fannie was the last member of the family of our old friend, J M. Harwood, except himself. All have crossed the dark river. She was a bright, sweet little girl, intelligent beyond her years.
Our heart goes out in deep sympathy to the heart broken and desolate father. May God, in his infinite mercy, enable him to bear his additional, terrible affliction with resignation and Christian fortitude.

Pontotoc Democrat.

(reprinted in the Chickasaw Messenger, Okolona, MS March 24, 1881)

Thought this might be of interest to you.

Nathaniel Brown. Your surname list includes Brown, do you know anything about this Nathaniel Brown. My 3rd great grandfather was Charles R. Brown 1812 b.NC -1878 d.TX. This Nathaniel could be me Charles R. Brown's father.
His family were in MS by 1845, according to state census and Land records of Noxubee county, MS.

Jerry, will you please transfer John's grandmother's page to me? Her # is 8477860. I would like the rest of the family that you have, but will have to go back and get their #'s. Thank you.

Wrong Cemetery
Hi Jerry,

My Mother, Annie Turner, Find A Grave Memorial# 6028903, is buried in Smith Chapel Cemetery In Booneville, MS. Not in Jones Graveyard.

Thank you,

I think there are two records. One for each Cemetery.

Cecil Cooley
Hi Jerry,
I am not sure if we had ever met, if so I would have only been 7-8 at the time. My name is Karissa Wilkersin, formerly Karissa Williams. I recently found the page on my grandfather Cecil Cooley, some of the info and spelling of his grand children is incorrect. Would it be possible at all to edit it? Also thank you so very much for the photos, I have been looking for a photo of him while he was serving and not having much luck. I appreciate you taking the time to make the page for him, and taking the time to read this.

Searching for Birth Father
I am searching for my birth father, I don't know my his name, I was hoping you or a family member might recognize him from the photo since that is the only hope I have of finding him. These photos were taken in 1958 and 1959. The one with my mother in the photo was taken in 1959 according to the license plates in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. I was born there as well. I know itís a long shot, but itís all I have.

My mother was a first cousin to Mary Elizabeth (Graham) Free and has a brother named Larry "Sonny" Graham whom this man knew. He visited my mother in Aubrey, Arkansas in the late 1950's. More information can be found at the website below.

Thanks you or anyone who sees this post for your time and consideration of information.

Brad Campbell
Jerry - I wonder if you would be kind enough to transfer some memorials to me. The cemetery is Chalybeate Presbyterian in Tippah Co., MS. There are about 10 or 12 that I'm thinking of. Every Powell in that cemetery is my family (my grandmother, her brother, my great-grandparents, and my gg-grandparents), and I'm also kin to all the Rays (aunts, uncles). As well, Rev. Abner Jones & his wife Lula Powell Jones are my relatives. (That's Powells, Rays, & Jones). Thanks so much for your consideration.
