According to Find A Grave Guidelines, you enter the surname as transcribed from the tombstone. The fact that I even put the alternate spelling is bending the rules a bit. If you study old documents, you will see it spelled both ways. My line of descent uses the spelling Setzer, but other lines of descent use Setser. How do you know which was the original? They were pretty creative with spelling back in the 1700's. The Fort Grider DAR spelled it Setser. I would leave it be. Since we can't time travel, we can't be certain who wrote, signed, spelled, etc. the documents.

Justin, you have to accept the edit where I added her parents in your edit tab at the top of your page. ;-)

RE: Re: Margaret Derkum
Actually, I believe I do have both her sisters, Jessie too and I have the links for their parents. I'll do an edit on her and add her parents links, ok?

RE: Re: Margaret Derkum
Ok, thanks, I think I was getting you and another confused on how you were related and to whom. lol One lady, it is her Aunt. I think I was thinking she was an Aunt of yours.

Re: Margaret Derkum
Justin, I was reading her obit and saw one of her sisters was Elizabeth North. Would that be the same one I have in Crown Hill? # 110155296 If so, she would be your relation too. Would you want a transfer of her too?

Hi, My Pastor just called me to see if I'd heard from you and if you had any luck contacting someone. I told him that I'd left you a message and he said if you had any trouble to let me know and he'd see what else he could do.

RE: Ernest A. Carey
My pastor states that if you search for the United Methodist website under city and state for the Conference Director it should show names for you to contact to get the information. Let me know if that doesn't work and I'll call him or go out to his office.

Good luck on Adam. I am descended through John, and have not been able to use Adam for DAR because of lack of documentation in my line.

RE: Nettleton Home for Aged Women
That was just a little handwritten note, probably made a few decades ago by a Nettleton volunteer or a long-ago Union Cemetery volunteer who viewed Nettleton records, which found its way along with similar notes to Union Cemetery. That's all that was written about Nancy. It wasn't formal or official, just a note.
If I can locate it again, I will photograph it for you, but it may be a while before I am back by the office again.

I am not a member of DAR through Adam, mostly because I'm connected through the descendant who married a Cherokee Indian; the documentation kind of falls apart. They have determined that Adam was a soldier long enough to "count" and he has a DAR marker, but his family never got his pension.

Thanks for all that you have done! Much appreciated. :)
I can't wait to go through the memorials. Do you have Elbert Hensley? I didn't see him in the transfer.
Let me take a look at that death certificate you sent me and see if I can answer your questions.
