Melvin Freemont Houck
#52781969; Melvin Freemont Houck is my grandfather and I would like to add his name and information to his parent's site, Charles Freemont Houck & Susie Reynolds Houck (buried in Allerton Cemetery, Iowa). Melvin is missing under "Children". Melvin was born on June 8, 1909 in Corydon, Wayne Co., Iowa; d. October 4, 1976 in Bastrop, Bastrop Co., Texas; buried in Fairview Cemetery, Bastrop, Texas.

Melvin married Edith Speckhart Houck (b. August 7, 1914 in Rock Island, Illinois; d. May 31, 1991 in Austin, Travis Co., Texas; buried at Fairview Cemetery, Bastrop, Texas).

Melvin & Pauline Rinehart (1st marriage) Children: Charles Melvin Houck (b. 1929) & Reginald Doty Houck (1931-1995)

Melvin & Edith's Children: Melva Sue Houck Anderson (b. 06/30/1941) & Gary Leonard Houck (b. 06/02/1946)

Please let me know if you have any concerns or questions. Thank you for your help in this matter.

RE: William Rufus Evans
Do you still have that transcript? As I received an email stating he was not in that cemetery. I was thinking that if a copy could be given to the person who takes care of the cemetery so they can update the files. I know that some are buried in a cemetery but are not log as being. Thanks for your help
Blessings
Jean

Scott Lackey
RE: Standiferds
that's not as bad as my great-grandmother's people. her name was Ralston and various siblings spelled it different in the same generation. some continued to use the previously dominant spelling as Rolston, while others substituted the "a".

Scott Lackey
Standiferds
the name change multiple times over the years. the dominant version used by James and his wife had a D at the end.
