Old Moses Skaggs Cemetery
Just wanted to say that yesterday a group of us found the Old Moses Skaggs Cemetery at Martha, KY. It had grown up in briars and bushes so we cleared it off and was able to read the headstones. Six graves are there with headstones and then beyond the cemetery we found stones that were in direct line with the other tombstones. I believe that this could be the graves of "Old" Peter & Martha Skaggs. I have no proof of this but it would make sense since in the 1860 Federal Census Martha was living with Moses and Elizabeth at the age of 89 yr. Just wanted to share this information.

Graves of "Old" Peter & Martha Skaggs
Hello Ruth,
My name is Gail Skaggs Ison, Peter & Martha are my 5th Great Grandparents. I saw your post and a picture of the graves. I have been trying to find the location of this cemetery. I live about 10 minutes from Martha, KY and would love to find this cemetery. Could you give location and directions to this cemetery where Peter & Martha Skaggs are buried? Thanks so much!

The Old Lenox Cemetery HELP!!!
I sure hope you can help!!!

The Old Lenox Cemetery is located in Morgan County, Kentucky at Lenox.Junction of Route 172 and 650, at the 6 mile marker, behind a Brown House on a hill across the creek. Information, from Bobby and Wayne Caudill who visited the cemetery in 2003.

I have been here and i can't find Olives or my Great grandfathers grave

Problem is there is a a Day Cemetery in that location way up on top of a hill and I have been up there but our family members are not up there . there has to be another location for Lafe Day Cemetery.....I'm looking for
Randolph Holbrook's burial site he has no marker yet he is listed as being buried in same location as Olive

Do you know where this Lafe Day Cemetery is? I know it is close to the Day Cemetery

Thank you
Teresa Lawler.

Prince Family
I'm not related to the Prince family, but I am helping out a descendant and probably a cousin of yours. He is researching the Cherokee part of the family. There is all kinds of speculations as to who the parents of John William Prince are, but the closest I have found is John Prince and Ann Moseley. However, many list Little Prince and Honeysuckle. Do you have any documentation about this? Perhaps you could assist your cousin on his quest for knowledge? If so, I will put him in contact with you. Thanks!

I noticed your Fairlenah Harrison Wheelers grave. Her father was Richard Harrison according to his will he left her in. I do not believe she was closely kin to the Gov. Harrison as has been rumored. I believe the stone grave was an Eleanor Wheeler not Fairlenah. But I am willing to look for sources. Thank you Melinda Wheeler Veirs

Terry Hunt
Henry Curtis Skaggs
Hi Ruth Ann: I have been looking for the parents of Henry Curtis Skaggs. He married Gustava Ward and moved from Lawrence Co. KY to Lewis Co., WA. in 1910. The 1880 census list him as son of Pleasant and Sarah Scaggs and Washington Death Records has his mother listed as Sarah. He died in 1953 in Morton, Lewis Co., WA. Am I correct thinking He is son of Pleasant & Sarah?

Joe and Sharlotte Owens
Francis Bennett Parker
My name is Sharlotte Hampton Owens and I live in Texas. My great grandmother was Nancy Jane Parker Close. I saw that the cemetery photo for Frances is credited to you. Were there any stones still standingt in that cemetery for Francis/Frances or her husband, Edmund/Edmond Parker. I know he died in Oct of 1886 in Green Co. due to his will, but have not been able to find a stone for him.

I would love to correspond with another Parker. I have a photo of Nancy Jane and would love to find one of her parents or siblings. I also have studio photos of her children when they were in late teens, some younger. Looking for someone to trade info and photos with.

Smiling in Texas,
Sharlotte member # 47831839

Rebeca Hamm 23921613

Would you please kindly consider my suggestion that you request a volunteer photographer to take a photograph of Becky's tombstone?

She is Rebecca Humphries McRoberts Ham, the first wife of my great-grandfather Robert Nicholas Ham.

(Our family always spelled the surname with one "m" not two, according to my grandmother--Robert and his second wife Eliza's daughter Annie Belle Ham Garvin. She told me, "Some others spelled it with two "m's" but our family always spell it with one "m".)

I would dearly love to see a photo of Becky's tombstone.

It is said that Robert, also, is buried at Pine Grove.
But there isn't a Find A Grave memorial for him, and I have no proof he is buried there.

Nor do I see a Find A Grave memorial for Robert's second wife, my great-grandmother Elizabeth Jane (Eliza) Swim Ham. I don't yet know where she is buried.

Thank you for your kind consideration of requesting a photo of Becky's grave.

With warm regards,

Cherie J.
