My Bro Mack Thomas Thornton was in Vietnam and Korea (20 year man). He is coming to Pensacola to visit me in Jan 2012 to bring two big plaques to the Naval Musuem on NAS Pensacola. The plaques are about MAC Companies in the Marines but affiliated with the Navy in some way, I think he said. They have the names of all his pals on them and most are deceased now, so it is importnat for him to do this. I look forward to going with him to NAS to the Naval Musuem at that time. RE: Layton Family Burial Ground
I have no't visited the Cemetery. But I have read that it is between 450-500 King's Highway. I think that the Middletown Historical Society would know. I was just in the area last week, to bring my father to his resting place, Bay View Cemetery. But I couldn't stay, only one day. Hoping to look next summer.

I photographed Shoemakers in St Mary's, Horsham, William Penn and Neshaminy. Is there a specific one you are inquiring about?

RE: Catholic Burial Grounds (Freehold)
I put in a fix but it hasn't been done yet. the person who made it had something that said the Catholic cemetery in Freehold. He was not from this area, so just made up a cemetery called that. It will go away when Mark catches up on the cemetery fixes.

Yardumian
Wow I am shocked at how clear everything was when you took the pictures of the Yardumian graves! When I was there a couple weeks ago everything was wildly overgrown and I was trudging through knee-high grasses at times. What a difference a rather short time makes!

Thank you Ray for your atempted to my photo request. I understand the Quakers sometimes did not provide markers. At least you found the plot and site for me.

Hi Ray!
Ray:

I am not sure where the rifle went. She was a bit of a gangster in real life, but she retired to a quaint Florida life eventually. I really appreciate you letting me build on what you so thoughtfully started. God Bless you my friend!

RE: Schenck and Couwenhoven
Hi Ray;

I am sure there are still some markers there, as it was a very large burying ground, but it is going to be a daunting task to find them due to the underbrush. I had hoped the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office would have tried a restoration up there when they instituted their cemetery program, but sadly that was not the case.
The pictures I posted were found in a book some years ago. I believe it was Beekmans Dutch Settlers of Monmouth County, but I am not sure at this point.
