Joseph Watson Self
You wrote the bio for Joseph Watson Self. You listed his parents as William Self and Sara Taylor. You listed his grandparents as Vincent Self and Louisa Loggins. Vicent Self did have a son named William Wesley Self born in 1940. He also had a brother named William Wesley Self born in 1826. I believe it was Vicent Self's brother that is the father of Joseph Watson Self. Sara Taylor you have correct as the mother that died giving birth to Joseph. I believe Joseph's paternal grandparents are William Self born 1793 and Rebecca Wear born 1793. I am a direct descendant of William Self born 1793, to Vincent Self, to Jasper Self, to William Vincent Self, to Hartfod "Bug" Self, to Stanley Self, and then me. If you have information I do not I would appreciate you correcting my error. If not I would love to help correct the bio.

RE: Thomas Melvin & Sidney Brown
Thanks for the reply, Judy. Just thought I'd ask. Not much info out there on her except for the marriage date.

RE: Haydens in Blunt County
Judy, You are managing and listing each of the following Hayden's in Ebenezer Methodist Cemetery. J.(John)Claude Hayden, Jessie McLeod Hayden, Jesse Oliver Hayden, Lucy A Oliver, Mary Ella Hayden, and Nancy Jane Cole Hayden. Another contributor has listed all of these buried in Tabernacle United Methodist Cemetery in Locust Fork, Alabama, both cemeteries are in Blount County. Since her listings contain pictures of each burial with their named headstones, I must assume her listings are correct. Before I make a trip to visit is there a way to confirm this. Thank You, Scott McCain

Haydens in Blunt County
Hi Judy! There are duplicate postings of several Haydens in Find-A-Grave. They are listed in both Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery and Ebenezer Methodist Cemetery. Are these two Cemeteries one and the same? I would like to visit my family gravesites there and before I make the trip I would like to be sure of the locations. Thanks you so much! Scott McCain

Mable Parrott
Hi Judy,

I can't transfer that memorial to you, I don't control it. Most of my memorials in Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills were transferred to Misty & Company. You need to go to the memorial, hit the edit button, clcik on suggest any other correction or addition, then fill out the message and tell them how you are related to Mable and ask for a transfer.

They really need to add a link on the memorials that says "Ask for transfer", hopefully they will do that sometime.

By the way, the procedure I outlined above is the best way to ask for transfers on the site. Many of the contributors who maintain a lot of memorials will only accept transfer requests through the suggest a correction option. Doing it as a message to the contributor is not the best way to do it. In this case, as you can see, you left me a message because I created the memorial and I don't control it any more, so I can't transfer it to you.

RE: Whitwell Pictures
Thanks for the pictures. With moving to Texas, I have not kept everything up to date. With your note I realized how much of Martha Ann Whitwell's branch I don't have input yet. Will try soon.

Morgan ancestry
Hi, I am descended from Charles Randolph Morgan. Wondering if you have info on Anny Graves Cherokee ancestry. I am also stuck at her first husband, Charles Morgan. From I find that he was born in 1800 in TN and died in 1842. Thanks for any help you can provide.

RE: Martha Ward
I found the answers to the questions I asked. I noticed you had already posted them on findagrave.

RE: Martha Ward
Happy to do it. The stone occupies an interesting site at the top of the hill. The whole graveyard is on a small hill and stones almost cascade down the sides. This is a rather old cemetery with several unmarked sunken areas. Let me know if I can help with others in this area. This area of Beech Creek was an early settled area of Wayne Co.
Do you have her parent's information?
I have that Pleasant William Ward also married Annie Lou Whitwell.
I do not have children for Pleasant William and Martha Sutton Ward.

Glenn Hendrix #87486198
Judy, I am writing as you left a virtual flower and message on the memorial #87486198 of Glenn Hendrix.
I am a volunteer with Find A Grave as well as a board member for the cemetery association of Big Valley.

Another volunteer contacted me that she had located a marker for Glenn, along with his wife and son, at the Chillicothe Cemetery, Chillicothe TX. She was questioning the validity of the memorial at Big Valley as we did not have a grave location or a marker photo.

I had set that memorial up from old funeral records and apparently the incorrect cemetery was indicated on those records. I wanted to let you know that the memorial on which you left a virtual flower is being deleted ( #87486198). The new memorial is 11460388. You may want to visit it.

Let me know if you have any questions...Jeanene Stermer BTW, your email addy on volunteer info needs to be changed, I believe

RE: Re Leslie Winslow
Well, sometimes people call something one way locally, but it is not the official name . . . that's why I included the short obit and mentioned the death certificate . . . the cemetery is in the Fairfield area. Thank you! I'll double check and get my memorial deleted.

Grave of Martha Eliz. Hanes
The grave located at Crisp Cemetery in Irwin County GA is not the grave of Elizabeth Lasseter Hanes. She was David's first wife and died in Fayette County Georgia on 04 Jun 1845. This Martha Elizabeth is Barnes. They were married in Fayette County Georgia on 04 Jan 1846. A lot of people have the two women confused since they were both named Elizabeth.

I am not sure where the first wife, Elizabeth Lasseter Hanes is buried but I believe it to be in the Babb/Hanes Cemetery in Clayton County, GA.
At the time of her death this was Fayette County and apparently the land where James or David lived. David's father, James Hains, a different spelling is buried in this graveyard and I have a feeling that this is probably where Elizabeth is buried. David's mother,Jemina Callaway Hanes, died in 1844 a short time before Elizabeth Lasseter Hanes died. I believe that she is buried next to James and when Elizabeth died that they probably buried her there also. I live in Fayette County and can't find her grave anywhere else. I believe it is probably an unmarked grave. I plan to go up and try to get a close look at this cemetery. If I find out anything new, I will pose it on this site.
