Pvt. William Aikens #7872107
Fionne,

Thanks for all your work on Find A Grave.

This memorial for Pvt. William Aikens is actually a duplicate memorial to William Akin #7044113. I have sent an edit note to the creator of #7044113, that this person's full name was William Constable Akin. The confusion with the surname is common in my family or could be an enlistment or incarceration mistake.

William Constable Akin's brother Samuel Watson Akin is a direct ancestor of mine.

I am not writing to ask that your memorial be removed; just to point out the duplication. The other memorial has family links.

Thanks again for your work. Find A Grave is a wonderful resource.

Hi, Fionne. I was wondering if you'd be willing to transfer Thomas Hall (#7235705)'s page over. He was my grandfather (my dad's dad.) It'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. ~ Sincerely, Lizzy

Jessie Kaufenberg is my husbands Aunt. I sent you a couple of edits. A lot of his family is buried at Memory Gardens and I have some of their memorials on my site. I know how much work goes into this, and just wanted to thank you. I am sorry there are rude people out there.

Thanks so much for posting this information. I found it linked on Ancestry. I had no date of death for her and had no idea she was ever out of the state of Texas.

Thanks for all your efforts on behalf of so many others looking for lost loved ones.

Sgt. Andre J Adams- Union soldier POW
Hi, Fionne-

I found him! His memorial # is 78877061. The text says he was buried at Greenlawn Cemetery (a Confederate Cemetery?) and was re-interred in 1933 at Crown Hill Confederate section. I thought he was a Union soldier kept in a Confederate POW prison, but maybe I have that backwards? It says he died 05 Mar 1865, but gives no birth date.

My great-grand aunt, Emeline Ward, married an Andrew J Adams in Oct 1863. Later, she married a Rev. William Williams, and they lived in Missouri. I was wondering if her first husband was lost in the Civil War.

The contributor for this memorial is "In Loving Memory of My Son, Gary". Her # is 46547937. But her messages are disabled, so I cannot contact her. Your name was under all the photos posted to this memorial.

Thank you for your help.

RE: Sgt. Andrew Adams, Union soldier Confederate POW
Hi!

I haven't gone back to find the record. I should have saved it when I saw it, but I wasn't sure it was the right person. I did try to re-locate it, but I wasn't successful. And then, I forgot about it. Back to the drawing board! Sorry! S.R.F.

Sgt. Andrew Adams, Union soldier Confederate POW
Hi,

I am looking for an Andrew Adams who married my second great-grand aunt, Emeline Ward, in White County, Indiana, in 1863. I wondered if this soldier might be him? She remarried to a Reverend Williams and lived in Missouri by the 1880 Census.

Is there any way to know?
