FRiddle Cemetery
The cemetery is on private property, but State law requires them to allow family access to the cemetery, I'm told. Here are the APPROXIMATE coordinates of the cemetery. I can't pinpoint it exactly on Google Maps, but this is close:

3147'15.4"N 8803'35.9"W
31.787619, -88.059982

If you leave the intersection of Hwy 69 and Hwy 154 near Ulcanush Baptist (outside of Coffeeville) and start out Hwy 154, it's only a little way (maybe a mile or so) until you turn left on Ice Plant Road (a dirt road). Just a short distance up Ice Plant, you turn into a little private dirt drive ( left I think) which is usually gated.

After you drive close to a little house or cabin the cemetery is not too far on over in the woods. It has a metal fence around it.

RE: Friddle Cemetery
Yes, I am related to the Friddle family. I will try to get more specific directions to the cemetery. I believe it's on private property.

They are not listed in the Gilmer City Cemetery. You might want to locate the Obit info to verify location. Sorry I could not find them.

You're quite welcome. I also posted photos for Irven, Temperance, Emma, Stephen and Rebecca Dicken - who were all buried in the same Sec/Lot. I've added information to the photo captions as well.

John Gallagher

I am tracking down a John Gallagher who married my great Aunt Matilda Baker In PA.

I see you maintain a John Gallagher #76330665
on Find A Grave whose wife is Matilda.

The dates I have John born about 1824
Matilda born about 1835

My Matilda was born in Butler Cty, PA to Cadwallader Baker.

You are welcome to copy the information I posted on her memorial, photo and all. and you might not want to add them before they are deceased, here is the protocol in findagrave:

Is it acceptable to add a memorial for someone who is still living?
Please try to avoid it. In general, we do not encourage adding memorials for individuals who are still living. We do realize, however, that when transcribing a cemetery, it is not always possible to determine if the person is living or not. Please do not add pre-need memorials from (1931-present) to Find A Grave. Memorials for individuals who are alive will be removed when requested (the exception being for 'famous' individuals who already have a burial location in place). You are always welcome to create a 'pre-need' memorial for yourself, if you would like, provided that you have a pre-need headstone already in place in a cemetery. [Top]

I did a photo request a while ago, and have not heard back. I am not sure how to go about doing another one and was just wondering if you knew how I could do that?
Thank you,

John Matviya
RE: Gallagher
I just posted a photo of Paul H. Gallagher. As you can see on the photo, Paul was born and died in 1920, not 1940 as you listed in your original posting of the grave.

I was responding to a photo request from Diane Jenson. She also requested John Gallagher (1829-186?) husband of Mathilda Gallagher. Matilda IS buried at Union but not John. At least he was not originally buried there (no burials before 1875) and there are no records of his reinternment there. Perhaps you would remove his name from the Find A Grave list for Union Cemetery in New Alexandria. Thanks!

RE: Friddle Family

I have cousins that live in the Clarke Co area; one says she thinks she has located the cemetery. I live about 100 miles away but go to the area often. When the weather cools off and there aren't as many snakes out we are going to get pictures. It will probably be in November; I hope I can get some headstone pictures.

I believe Margaret Z Friddle b 1879 married my Great Uncle Lacurgus White. And his sister Sarah White married Horace Friddle b1877. I have just recently found this information.

Hi - you didn't send your email address, so I'll answer your question here. The death date on her page is the one in the cemetery book. If you believe it is incorrect, just let me know and I'll change it. Sherry

RE: Friddle Family
Some of Charnick Friddle's (b 1848)children married into my family - White, Horton & Kelley. I just recently found this and starting looking for the cemetery. I was surprised it wasn't on the computer, but I found an old Clarke Co Historical Quarterly that had info on it. So that's why I set it up. I want to go out there one day to see if I can get some pictures. It will probaly be this Fall when it gets cooler. I live about 100 miles from there. When I do I will post what I find.
