Hi Robin...This memorial shows it in a Ross Cemetery close to Abbott Rd. When I took the picture of James Calvin Ross Gravestone it was in Ross Cemetery on Piney Grove Rd. I will look for your other one but I need to know if they moved his stone so I can edit my cd to have his stone in the right cemetery.
Sorry for all your lose's I lost since then to.
Thank you and will move the picture just let me know. God Bless you

Andrew J Martin #5427906
Hello Robin, I tried to send the following message to your private email, but it came back as undeliverable, so I'm copying and pasting it here, sorry for the length:
I've been working a bit on the Martin family and come across the memorial for Andrew J Martin.
I'm sure there are numerous errors in the list of children as given on his memorial.

Using census, birth records, death records, and the obituary that appears on Andrew's memorial. There are children to add to this family, but my concern is the children listed that can't be found in any source material, and the children that I'm sure belongs to other parents.

As seen on the memorial:

First the ones that can be found in the birth or death index as being children of other parents.
Delmar, parents are Louis Martin and Truie Kidd
Delsie, parents are Louis Martin and Truie Kidd
Garry, parents are Wilburn Martin and Reva Jones (and if this were Nola's child, she would be well into her 60's)
Edd, mother is shown as Emily Davenport (perhaps a typo, misinterpretation of the original birth notation, but I don't think so)

Questionable:
Ralph - I can find anything for Ralph except his memorial, born and died 4/7/1939. I find nothing in the sourcing material for him, that's not saying it wasn't lost, or simply never reported. However, Andrew did definitely have a daughter, Maydean (shown as Naydean on the birth record, but seen as May Dean), and Maydean was born, per the birth index, on 3/5/1939. This would be in great conflict with Ralph's birth and death date of 4/7/1939.

There is a Donel Martin shown on the find a grave memorial. Besides that, I can find no source material that mentions him whatsoever, not in the birth or death index. I will say, he was born in 1925, and that could, time wise, put him in between the births of Leslie and Ellen, so it is possible he is Andrews and Nola's son.

The Nobel and Mabel as shown are probably not correct. Andrew and Nola had twins, Able and Mabel born 3/20/1915. At first I thought this Nobel could be Able, but the memorial says born and died 1928. Both Able and Mable, b. 1915, are in the birth index as children of Nola Davenport. I have no death information for them,. though. Also, a child not listed on the memorial, Dolly, per the birth index, was born 2/14/1928, so if a son was born in the same year, it would be close - but possible. So with this Nobel, I can't say for sure he is not their son, but I've found nothing at all for a Nobel, or something close, martin born to anyone in 1928.

I know this is a lot to put on your plate regarding this family. I don't know if you are the one who put this family together as shown on the memorials or if you have simply approved submitted edits.

If nothing else, I do believe the ones I've proven to be the children of other people need to be deleted from the memorial, Delmar, Delsie, Garry, and probably Edd.

I appreciate all of your and other contributor's efforts. I think find a grave is a wonderful undertaking taken by those who understand our ancestor's are precious and remembering them, honors them and the work is to be commended.

If you have any questions about my suggestions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you...................Valorie Taylor Spence

RE: transfer
Robin,

Thanks so much for the transfer of Rebecca Letman Russell. It's always nice to meet a distant cousin. I've taken a look at your website and it's really terrific. You do have several generations back from Samuel Arthur Russell. What I would be interested in seeing on the site is a listing of your sources for all of your data. Would you be able to tell me your source/sources for why you believe John Russell, Sr. and Elizabeth Swink are the parents of Samuel Arthur Russell? I know how hard it is that far back in time to prove lineage. I'm a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and I'm always looking to find more direct line ancestors that were Patriots. You have to be able to prove each generation.

Sorry to hear about your losses. I definitely understand. Sometimes I use the volunteering as a distraction and other times I just need a break from it.
Thank you for responding and take care.

RE: Concord Cemetery
I looked at your family tree and unfortunately it appears that your Fred E Pruitt is not mine - wrong parents. I am related to 99% of the Pruitts in the current Cherokee County, GA.

Your family tree website is wonderful.
