Just some additional information... there is a Nathan Chapman Memorial Trail at the South Hill Park in the Puyallup area. There is a plaque there in his honor. I frequent this park a lot and would be happy to get a photo of the plaque and add it to your memorial if you like.

I teach at Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo, and my seminar students and I have gotten interested in Yanaka Cem. We've been impressed at the amount of work you've done there. Every memorial I've looked at there has been your work.
We would also like to make a contribution. We're wondering if you would be willing to let us manage some of the memorials of literary interest that you have. We're in a position to update information, take additional photographs, and translate Japanese materials associated with the graves.
Would you be willing to transfer some of your memorials to us? Right now we're just looking at Takahashi Oden, but rather than ask you one-at-a-time to transfer memorials, I thought it might be easier for you if we'd ask for a group--say a half dozen or so, according to who the students are interested in.
If you would be willing to cooperate with us, we'd be very much obliged.

I found the same obit (Indystar). It states burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, but does not give any other specifics. I've found a tx for the Greenwood Mt Pleasant but none for the one in Franklin. If all else fails, I'll see if the funeral home can help.
There are 7 memorials at the Marion Co cem that are probably not there. Only been able to find one so far (she is at the Greenwood cem & already had a memorial there). I'll let you know what/if I find any info.Added by IndyScot on May 31, 2012 1:00 PM | |
