Please refer to:

I am trying to determine if James T Trusler is a son of Joseph M Trusler.

Do you have any documentation for reference to a relationship?

Best Regards

Linda Decker
Snead family cemetery

I am Thomas Marshall Snead's great granddaughter. We visited the cemetery and I have some photos of the tombstones to add.
Thomas Marshall Snead
I have them for Azella M Campbell wife of Walter Snead Jr.
Mitty B Snead and Eugene V Snead
Letha Azella A Anderson
Maggie Lee Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald Stillborn

If you have a way I can get them to you I will be happy to share or you can transfer the graves to me for now.

After we returned, I wish I had thought to do all the stones. THanks, Linda

RE: Mount Olivet Cemetery
That is the problem with the old records, many of the data sources can be flawed or absent. The cemetery spreadsheet does not indicate a date of death, only the burial date. Since many of the burial dates could be re-burials (winter deaths, etc.), it was necessary to avoid confusing folks with inaccurate dates of death. Another findagrave member has posted 5k photos and I have been working through those as I have time.

What I normally do to verify dates of death is to search the death notices in the Baltimore Sunpapers. That usually helps.

If there is a specific memorial that you are looking for, email me the link and I'll check the Sun.

I tried to send it to your email. I hope you get it.

Phyllis Lorraine Truslow
Her full name is listed on the marriage license when she married Noble Hobson Truslow. Her father was listed as Robert James Truslow. This was an error. He was her step-father (probably only father she knew). His correct name was Robert Jesse James.

RE: Phyliss James Truslow
She was born in 1931 before her mother married Mr. James in 1945. She was listed on the 1940 census with her mother, as Phyllis Truslow. Her mother was listed as single. Her biological father is unknown.

You are welcome. It is my way of paying back for all the information I have obtained from other researchers over the years.

RE: Woodson Fitzgerald
My niece also has many Fitzgeralds in her line.
Woodson is her 4th GG, Philander, her 3rd GG, and his daughter, Rose, her 2nd GG.
She also descends from Woodson's uncle, James Coleman Fitzgerald, so you two must be related.

As soon as I can get Bunny on the phone, I'll try and get the information for you. I talked to her last winter and she was going to try and get down to see me in the Spring but I've not heard from her anymore. I'll let you know when I do.
Thanks for replying so quickly. Jan

Nellie Talley
Nellie Truslow Talley was my Aunt on my mother's side, and she died in Clinton, Maryland, the date is probably right, but she was married to Walter Talley who is buried in Wintergreen Christian Cemetery in Nelson County. "Bunny's" name was Mary Ann Talley, and Bunny was just a nickname. If you would like to send me a message, that will be fine, but I don't think where she was born and all that matter of Uncle Walter being divorced from her and who he subsequently married really has anything to do with her obit. I am Jan, and would appreciate this being corrected. You helped me early on when I put my Mom and Dad on find a grave, and you gave me their memorials. I will try and call Bunny and get the complete obit. for you. Many thanks.

RE: Truslow
Thank you for the warm welcome! You are welcome for the pictures of the tombstones and pictures. It is highly possible that somewhere along the line, we may even be related- as most of my paternal family is from the Stafford area and came out of Mount Hope Baptist Church. Let me know if I can be of any assistance in your research of the area.

RE: Trusler/Truslow
Hi, I just now saw a message from you from a long time ago. Sorry, and yes, my name is Noretia "Tia" Rosell (Trusler) Holland. I've been working on family genealogy through - just not a paid member right now. I am still very interested in learning about your Trusler/Truslow research. Perhaps I asked before, but is there a way I can view your family tree(s)?
Thanks so much!

I clicked on the "edit" tab and it does not show anything about transferring it. What under this tab are you referring to? Thank you

I have emailed you a copy of his death certificate as well as a copy of the Birth Record page from his family bible. These will show his birth and death dates and full name. I did not put in an edit for the middle name, as you prefer to keep your memorials with only the information on the gravestone, however, if you change your mind, you now have record of it.

Will send a message today to that cousin in WV. She said something about going back up to a cemetery at one point. Now I can't remember for what reason.
Yea, now I'm the older relative, 51, and wished I had been interested in my roots when all the older uncles and aunts were still alive. I did get to some to ask things, but then you find more that you need to know and it's too late.
I'll get on here and add you as a friend.
I had started off on here just adding my relatives and going back and connecting all in the family I could. So someone could use this as their pedigree chart if they needed to.
My Grandma's 1/2 sister married George W. Messer Sr. and they had the Jr. that Irene married. Then Grandma's full brother married a Messer who was the daughter of old George Sr. Tricking connections! So I had to do more research on them. He He.

RE: Irene Messer Memorial# 20432388
Hi, shame on me for not taking photos back then when I first started walking cemeteries. I will ask a cousin that lives over there to take one for me and if she doesn't, I'll do it if I make a trip this Oct.
I will especially look at the ground to see if it is sunken or piled to try and tell if she is there. But since the obit states she is there, I am wondering why your cemetery you have her in has the death date?
I might even try the funeral home. They are very helpful in these things. Or their books at the Martin Co, KY society.
I have added her husband George Messer Jr., and linked him up to his parents, but am not sure how to link him up to his wife, in case she is over there!? So I think I'm going to wait on that, if you don't mind and I'll see 'where they body lies' before we get into that.
I do know that I had this situation with my great uncle. He had gotten a stone with his first wife, but then was buried in another cemetery with his second. At least on the first wife's stone, there is no death date, and that helped 'prove' he wasn't there.
I've got this on my list to do, so will get back with you in a couple months. Thank you for posting her memorial as it made me get in there and really look for her. I never knew her maiden name before.

RE: Riverview
There should be records especially for gravesites that have been moved. I have noticed on the paperwork I have that they are indeed marked as
re-interred & the new location. The city of county should have this info if not perhaps the library may in their archives. It is indeed very frustrating and I fully understand. Keep digging & hopefully you will have some luck.

Grave locations I am logging are from their office info. I have been trying to locate an uncle that is buried at riverview, that they have no record on. Because of the change of hands for the cemetery in 1940, something either got lost or not entered. I have gleaned a lot of info in my search for him and am putting grave locations on Find A Grave.
Let me know if you have a question.
