Uncles Schott photo - WWII
I am an amateur researcher-genealogist helping the Cambridge (England) WWII Cemetery look for family facts and photos for an upcoming tribute. On Memorial Day 2017, they will be placing all photos they receive of the men buried or memorialized there next to their name or grave marker.

Two men (so far) that I have found in your photo of your uncles crew in SD during a snow storm, are Richard Spelts, Charles B Hirsch and Fairen Sino. I would like to submit this photo for this tribute.

If so, would you be able to help say which is which? Hirsch and Sion are the ones I am having the hardest time firmly identifying.

Thank you

Thank you for visiting Thunder , I still cry when I type her name. I miss her so much! her sister lightning is also missing her very much (same litter)I don't think she will ever be the same, very lonely and sad, Even when her tail is wagging her eyes tell a different story. I had to hide Thunders collar, Lightning kept finding it and carrying it around. You can only imagine my tears.
Thank You again cl aka Cherrie

Hi Roberta,
I was just looking at the info for Arcelia and her husband Robert John McKie. I'm wondering if Arcelia and Robert McKie are part of your family tree.
Robert John McKie is my 1st cousin 3 times removed. His father, John Robert McKie was my 2nd great granduncle-his sister Susan Ann Mckie being my2nd great-grandmother. If we do share this ancestry I have lots of information on the McKie Family. I also am going to submit info for the FindAGrave site for Robert John Mckie.
Hope to hear from you.

Duponts
Hello Roberta,

I noted a comment on my public tree on ancestry.com. I also see that you are involved in the Dupont genealogy. I.e.,Agnes Dupont Lavalley and John Baptiste Dupont and dau. Grace Mathilda Dupont etc. This line of French Canadian descendants are linked to my wife's Poirier/Peryea family descended from Jean Baptise Poirier dit Lanjeunesse who was among the first group of setter soldiers who arrived in Quebec.

Should you want to discuss anything or build on the information available, please feel free to contact me at Cnowotny@msn.com. Also Find A Grave Member (#47232390).

Amicalement,

Chuck Nowotny

I just added photos of his headstone. I also sent you an edit of the place of his burial which will be in island Pond Cemetery, Ludlow, MA and is scheduled for October 30,2015. His urn will be buried in Section R Lot 57 Grave 1. The GPS I added is for the headstone.

In the future if you add a memorial and see that I have photos of the headstone for a family member please feel free to use them as you see fit.

Steve.

Re: Memorial #56290718 Hirsch
I am in the process of writing a book about the WWII Casualties from Vicksburg, MS. and TSgt Charles Beer Hirsch is one of the names I am including in my research. I noticed that the photos you have were submitted to you by a cousin, Mike Sullivan and wondering if it would be possible to get his email from you so that I might make contact with him regarding my book?

Hi

Mom only wants to keep your memorial page since you helped out so much the last time.

Mary Rose died 1 October 1982 in Ware MA. We do not know where she is buried. We assume same as Hector.

I have a copy of that same picture if you want to add it to the other site but as I said before Mom does not want your memorial page deleted.

Please advise.

Hope all is well with you and yours.

Respectfully, Paula

Hi Roberta -
You have entered Grace V. Bresnahan McGrath at St. Jerome's in Holyoke.
This is a long shot, I know, but I have a family photo of her and George and Margaret? and would like to give it to the family.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Anita

Thanks, Roberta. If you find the website for the book, please let me know. I had no idea how hard it would be to find a photo of Einar or any of the men that I am researching! Thanks for all your help.

RE: Hebert Simons
I think we must conclude that my Herbert Simons is not the same person.

The gravestone inscription and cemetery records plus the Grant Co., Indiana data base of dates for birth, death, burial, and published obituary all support the dates I have posted on his Find A Grave memorial.

Thanks for trying so hard but no home run this time.

H. L. Simons
Per your question about my Find A Grave memorial for Herbert Leroy Simons #52747860.

I can not find any info to prove or disprove that he was a Sgt in the US Army Air Forces and might be the person in your World War II photo.

The best I can offer is that one can review the photo posted in his Find A Grave memorial near the time of his death and compare it to your photo and see if you think it is the same person.

If you decide it is and post the picture on his memorial please let me know and I will add it to my family genealogy records and web site.

Thanks, Jack
