Harvey L. Hughes
Hello, Bobbie. Thank you for adding the photo of my cousin Harvey's tombstone to his memorial! May I have permission to copy it for my family tree?

(I did my student teaching in Breathitt County, Ky many years ago while some of my friends did theirs in Wallins Creek, Harlan County. Did you ever know Billy K. Howard?)

Bobby, thank you for the beautiful photo of the Monteagle Cemetery that was added to Benton (57614700) & Tootsie (57614687) Summers' Find-A-Grave page. Your name sounds so familiar... did you ever live in California?

James C & Violet Ruby Layne
Hi Bobbie, have found this couple also listed in the Marion Co Tn cemetery record book in Monteagle Cem. James C Layne 7-29-1908 no death date, Violet Ruby Layne 3-12-1902 12-13-1978, married 11-22-1929. I haven't been to either cem. to check on this. Then again they may have stones in both. I have another relative that does have 2 stones in 2 different cem. Thank you for all the work you put into this site. Linda

Howdy!

Since my usual procedure is to make memorials from gravestone photographs, I'll say "Yes" to having grave photos for the Newells.

They'd be on an external hard drive, which I'll go through ASAP to edit and post to their memorials.

Miles Choate # 62105027
Hi, Bobbie!
Here's an obit for Wampy. His full name is Miles Rutherford Choate, Jr. He was a character and a half! The El Coronado Ranch is still up on Turkey Creek in a gorgeous wooded setting about 10 degrees cooler than the valley floor in the summer! Miles' dad, Miles Rutherford Choate, Sr., was the foreman for the ranch for several years. Austin someone, a very wealthy fellow, owns El Coronado Ranch now. Wampy's mom was Elizabeth M. Knipe, a Massachusetts gal.

Published: Wednesday, August 11, 2004 12:38 PM CDT in the Arizona Range News, Willcox, Arizona.

"Miles Choate 1932 - 2004 Miles (Wampy) R. Choate passed away peacefully Aug. 5, 2004, in Caballo, N.M. He was 72 years of age. He was born in Douglas, Ariz., on April 18, 1932. He lived at the El Coronado Ranch in Turkey Creek until seventh grade, at which time his family moved to Tres Alamos. He graduated from Benson High School and later joined the Air Force. Miles was in the Air Force several years, including time spent in France. Miles married and lived at Campstone, Queen Creek and Sulphur Springs Valley in Arizona. Later, he moved to Cotton City, Pie Town and Caballo, N.M. Miles spent his life working as a hog farmer, truck driver, cowboy, rancher, windmiller and well driller. He loved mechanical equipment, woodworking and being outdoors. He is survived by his brother Rufus Choate of Pie Town, N.M.; one son, Roger Choate of Benson, Ariz.; three daughters, Christy Dockter of Farmington, N.M., Carolyn Nolting of Benson, Ariz., Joellen Gilje of Rolette, N.D.; and nine grandchildren. Friends and family will gather at the El Coronado Ranch in Turkey Creek, at 2 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, for his memorial."

Partin's
I would love to get with you on the Partin"s. Nancy McClure Partin was my GG- Grandfathers sister. I see you have some great pictures of them. My cousin and I do the family research, but I live in Tennessee and she lives in Walker county, Georgia. She has found his Civil War Pension. I would love to have any information that you have on them to add to our tree. It seems that we are related. Thank you for adding the pictures to the Memorial pages.
